Atos supports Thales in creating its firm of the future: more global, more collaborative, more secure

Atos, an international IT services company, supports Thales, a world leader in mission-critical solutions for Defence and Security, Aerospace and Transportation, in the worldwide implementation of its unique, global and highly secure ECM platform, which is based on Open Text’s Livelink solution.

Atos has supported Thales since 2008 as the global integrator of the new collaborative “Team OnLine” platform. This very extensive programme was designed to meet the business challenges of all of the Group’s entities and employees around the world in the context of an organisation that is particularly sensitive to problems relating to security (of platforms, networks, data and information).

The special feature of this infrastructure is that it is based on a single platform instantiated around 3 main environments that meet the specific needs of the group’s different entities: internal environment, external environment (clients, suppliers, partners) and restricted environment (military, export controls, etc.).

As well as dealing with the technological challenges, the key to success for this project has been in defining a shared governance model that is suitable for the complexity of the organisation, allowing space for people to master the system and ensuring that operators have the autonomy they need.

Eric Bourdeau, “Team OnLine” Programme Director at Thales: “Atos has successfully supported us in the design, production and now the deployment of this new collaborative platform. Achieving productivity gains in the implementation of the company’s critical work processes and promoting exchanges at the same time as respecting tough security restrictions are the challenges that Thales and Atos see as being at the heart of the collaborative firm of the future.”

Yannick Tabanon, Director of ECM Services at Atos: “We are proud to be working closely with Thales to respond to the key challenge of information sharing within large organisations operating on a global scale. Atos offers its clients innovative solutions based on collaborative technologies in order to give them the means to manage and share information more globally, collaboratively and securely, enabling ‘Smart Organisations’ to come to life.”
