DECENNIAL CELEBRATIONS – S-VYASA Yoga University Inaugurates Lakshmi Amma Spiritual Retreat with Bhagavata Katha

GMR Chairman Sri GM Rao was the Chief Guest at the Decennial Celebrations at S-VYASA Yoga University
The Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (S-VYASA) inaugurated the Lakshmi Amma Spiritual Retreat with Bhagavata Katha by internationally renowned orator Prof. Prema Pandurang as part of its Decennial Celebrations. The program will continue daily from 3rd to 9th June, 4 to 7 pm at the S-VYASA campus in Jigani in loving memory of founding member the late Pujya Lakshmi Ammaji.

The program was held under the auspices of Chief Guest Sri G.M.Rao, Bangalore based global infrastructure developer and Founder Chairman GMR Group and Guest of Honor, Industrialist Sri Kailash Bagaria. Several other dignitaries, well-wishers, staff, students, therapy participants and residents of S-VYASA were present on this grand occasion.
Vice Chancellor of S-VYASA, ex-NASA scientist Dr. Nagendra welcomed the gathering and enumerated the many achievements of the institution. M.Sc. (Ph.D) research scholar Su. Meenakshi KB shared her experience of having lived and studied at S-VYASA for over 9 years and how Yoga had helped her in her personal and professional growth. The personal account of Sri Ashish Prakash Pathak, a printing business manager from Latur,Maharashtra who followed the Integrated Approach to Yoga Therapy (IAYT) for the treatment of cancer at S-VYASA’s residential health home Arogyadhama, also inspired the gathering.
Well-wishers and spiritual aspirants Sri Harish Aidasani and Sri Chandru Bahirwani of Mumbai were both felicitated for their kind generosity in sponsoring the 2-storyed Dhruti Cottage which was declared open earlier during the day.
Year-long Decennial Celebrations were inaugurated in March by Dr. Vishwa Mohan Katoch (Director General, ICMR, New Delhi), followed by an exhibition entitled “Yoga Darshan” in May by Dr. Rangesh Paramesh, (Head - Research & Development, Himalaya Drugs).
With more than 25 years in Yoga education and research, S-VYASA is a recognized University (Section 3., University Grants Commission Act 1956) since 2002. Professional Yoga courses at Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, Masters and Research Doctorate level are offered at the S-VYASA campus - Prashanti Kutiram meaning Abode of Peace.
