The 8th Edition of Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week Summer / Showers 2013 ended with a bang with noted designer Ritu Kumar showcasing at the grand finale.
Akhilesh Pahwa:
After completing his diploma in design, Akhilesh Pahwa started his own label and has been around for 5 years. His design sensibility revolves around the perfect blend of modernity and ethnicity. His creations portray an extraordinary league of male couture as never seen before. With a rich and varied experience in the field of designing, ranging from high end trousseau to celebrity wardrobes, the passion for design can be seen carved into sleek silhouettes. With a flair for creating men’s wear, which is sleek yet extravagant, graceful yet alluring, vintage yet polished, Akhilesh Pahwa believes in cultivating fresh silhouettes with most precise fits.

Collection Brief: The Label Shweta Bhargava deals with Garments in Black and White with Indian Embroideries and Western and Indian Silhouettes. The designer combines the finest craftsmanship with modern silhouettes and styles. She also creates intricate embroideries in a Different Designs. Her Signature Style is Western cuts with Indian surface ornamentation.

Label Name: Sayantan Sarkar
Collection Title: ‘To Be or not to Be’
Collection Brief: The Collection celebrates the mental confusion of the gender blenders who are yet to discover themselves. ‘To Be or Not to Be’ is therefore their primary question in life. To be what the society expects or be what they really are in the mind. They are therefore at war with the mind and the body. They live through the initial struggle and evolve finally as a refined whirlpool of self discovery. This collection of Summer Resort Wear is targeted towards the bohemian globe- trotter; those that have no rules to follow or break but their own path to seek and make.

Collection Name: The Wedding Collection 2013
Collection Brief: Neerus Emporio presents its Wedding Collection’13 with exclusive ethnic bridal wear, ranging from heavy intricately designed lehengas, bridal suits and wedding gowns. An array of various fabrics and karigari has been used to display the collection like- banarasi brocades, velvets, Swarovski’s, antique work and much more.This Wedding season is all about being dressed in the lehengas of Vibrant colors, different fabrics, heavy borders,intricate karigari at Neerus Emporio . The brides this season have a reason to flaunt, as their trousseau collection iswell taken care at Neerus Emporio. The collection also boasts about Men’s ethnic wear with classy Koti Jackets andkurta pyjamas for an ethnic evening and heavy sherwanis for the Big Day. state of the art collection. The opening sequence by Label Ritu Kumar presents Art Deco in a contemporary design language and context. This is followed by the classical whites, a special collection inspired from India’s most perennial aesthetic of gossamer jaalis and layered lights patterns-- The collection is delicate and femininwith a vibrant color palette. This is followed by a collection of baroque and vintage lines, using the traditional RITU KUMAR prints with paisleys and chintz flowers embellishing, baroque lace looks. The finale is a culmination ofa cocktail line in ethnic embroideries of indigo and gold, with the bridal line taking the finale to its finish withthe best of exotic fabrics and embroideries special to the house of RITU KUMAR couture. Using the moods and motifs of the era, the pieces are crafted to offer a modern representation.
