SPI assessed at CMMI L-5 Ver 1.3

SPI assessed at CMMI L-5 Ver 1.3
SPI has been assessed at Level 5 of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI Ver 1.3) for its IT development centre at Mysore. The assessment was conducted by the lead auditor from KPMG, India. The rigorous SCAMPI assessment was carried out over a period of ten days where various project teams and functions were audited for different process areas. SPI was assessed at ver 1.2 in 2010. CMMI Level 5 ver 1.3 is a significant improvement over ver 1.2 in terms of High Maturity Process areas.
With this implementation, SPI has further reinforced high maturity practices like Prediction Models and customized processes in its Development, Maintenance and Testing Projects and has lowered the risks in Project Execution.
“The assessment at L 5 is a key milestone in our quality journey. It demonstrates SPI’s commitment to excellence and is a testimony to the value we bring to our customers in terms of metrics, predictive performance, strong requirements management, defect reduction and lower cost of ownership,” said Girish Karunakaran, President Eurasia Operations.
