Intrad School of Coaching, a pioneering company in Leadership Development & Executive Coaching, hosted the International Leadership & Coaching Conference 2013 with Sir John Whitmore, the world’s foremost leadership coach, and several other international speakers.
The conference, which was held on 6th and 7th of June 2013 at Taj Vivanta, Whitefield, saw eminent personalities like M. Krishna Kumar, Nigel Cumberland, M. Shanmugham, Philip Beddows, Bonnie Chan and Debashis Chatterjee talk about coaching and its importance in the present day world.
ILCC was organized in Bangalore as an endeavour to empower future leaders bridge the gap between potential and performance.
Leadership in the 21st century transcends traditional business modes. Leaders in today’s world need to be aware of their inner stretch, and coaching plays a crucial role in enabling this development.
“The conference comes at an important stage in the Indian leadership scene. The speakers at ILCC added portrayed different dimensions of leadership, such as Enlightened Leadership, Timeless Leadership, Awakened Leadership, Vertical and Lateral Leadership, all of which are vital to the wholesome development of a leader,” Mr. Krishna Kumar, Founder Director of the ISEC, said.
The conference, which had over 90 participants, enabled various CEOs and future leaders gain a deeper awareness about themselves and identify specific “mantras” to apply in their workplace.
Sir John Whitmore, who is the Chairman & Founder of Performance Consultants International, , spoke about Enlightened Leadership.
“Leaders of the future will focus on human development as the virtue that brings both tangible and intangible benefits, not just for the individual or organization but the community as a whole. The coach engages the leader to look within himself while taking decisions that enhance the quality of life for society at large,” he said.
The first day of the conference also saw other speakers like Nigel Cumberland, Dr. Abhoy Ohja, Mr. M Shanmugam spoke about other aspects of leadership like Lateral Leadership, Vertical Leadership and Synergistic Leadership.
Mr. Krishna Kumar, Global Vice President of the IAC, a Partner in the Silk Road partnership and the Founder & Managing Director of ISEC, opened the second day of the conference with his thoughts about “Awakened Leadership”.
Awareness, Decisions & Trust are the three principles that form the core of “Awakened Leadership”, which helps a leader to understand and influence their followers, Mr. Krishna Kumar said.
A panel discussion at the conference explored various methods of developing better leadership skills, being a better leader and mentor, while comparing Indian leadership development to other regions in the world, concluding with the discussion of the various ‘mantras’ participants learned over two days.
