A cricketing powerhouse, with three of India’s most dynamic and exciting athletes - Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina, adidas strengthens its team with the next generation of talented cricketers. Sachin Tendulkar was in the capital to welcome the newest members of team adidas - Unmukt Chand, Parvez Rasool, Vijay Zol Manan Vohra, Manpreet Juneja, Rush Kalaria, Chirag Khurana, Akshdeep Nath, Vikas Mishra, Sarfaraz Khan and Aparajith Baba.

Speaking at the event, Sachin Tendulkar said “This is a great initiative from adidas to support the future of this sport, which encourages aspiring athletes to follow their passion and be part of an extraordinary league. Mentoring these talented young cricketers will let me be close to what I love and give back to the sport.”

BRIEF PROFILES OF ADIDAS’ NEXT GEN CRICKETERS:

·         Unmukt Chand, 21 year old, right hand batsman from Delhi. Former Captain of the 2012 u-19 World Cup champion team and played for the Delhi Daredevils in IPL-2013

·         Vijay Zol, 19 years left-hand middle-order batsman from Maharashtra. He is captain of the India Under 19 team at the 2014 ICC u-19 WC in Dubai and represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL-2013

·         Parvez Rasool, 25 year old, right hand bat and right arm off-break bowler who became the first J&K cricketer to represent the Indian senior team in 2013. Parvez captains the  Jammu& Kashmir team and single-handedly led them into the Ranji trophy knock-out phase. He played for Sahara Pune Warriors in IPL-2013

·         Manpreet Juneja, 23 year old right hand bat and right arm off break bowler from Gujarat. Manpreet represented Delhi Daredevils in IPL-2013 and plays for Gujarat and India A

·         Rush Kalaria, 21 year old right-hand batsman and left-arm medium-fast bowler from Saurashtra, and former member of the India u-19 2012 World Cup winning team

·         Akshdeep Nath, 20 year old, former Vice Captain of the Under-19 2012 World Cup Champion team. He is a right-hand batsman and occasional right arm medium-fast bowler and plays for Uttar Pradesh

·         Vikas Mishra, 21 years old left arm orthodox bowler from Delhi. A former member of the India  u-19 team and also represented Delhi Daredevils in IPL-2013

·         Manan Vohra, 20,  from Punjab, is a former India u-19 player and presently plays for King XI Punjab and was one of only two uncapped players retained by their respective IPL franchise

·         Chirag Khurana,  21 year old, right hand batsman and right arm off break bowler who presently plays for Maharashtra

·         Sarfaraz Khan, 16 year old right hand batsman and right arm off break bowler from Mumbai, who presently plays for the India u-19 and Mumbai u-19 teams

·         Aparajith Baba, 19 year old, right hand batsman and right arm off break bowler from Chennai. He plays for India A, India Under 23’s and Tamil Nadu
