Indian Institute of Management Calcutta has become the first IIM to achieve Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation.
“It’s a global benchmark and the top ones have such recognition. It brings global recognition to the institute. It also opens up a huge job market internationally as it becomes easier for students to get recognised outside because there is no question about quality,” said Dean, Academics, at IIM Calcutta Anindya Sen.
ISB Hyderabad and TAPMI Manipal are the only two Indian institutions to get AACSB accreditation in India. AACSB's global headquarters in USA informed MBAUniverse.com about this significant development today, August 18.
"AACSB congratulates Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and Director Prof. Saibal Chattopadhyay on earning accreditation, and we welcome them into the family of AACSB-accredited business schools," said Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International.
AACSB provides its members with a variety of products and services to assist them with the continuous improvement of their business programs and schools.
