As a part of the association, Whirlpool ran a Facebook campaign that involved activating the Facebook fan base to like and share an image to create awareness about the incredible work Aman Biradri is doing. After securing a certain number of likes Whirlpool gifted the NGO Aman Biradri an RO water purifier to be installed in one of their shelters.
The purifier was installed in their ‘Khushi – Rainbow home’ that houses over 70 girls between ages 6 to 18. This RO water purifier will not only help the home provide clean, safe and healthy drinking water to all these children but will also benefit them save over 10,000 rupees per month that were previously being spent on buying clean, bottled water for the children.
According to Mr. Shantanu Dasgupta, VP, Corporate Affairs & Strategy, “This was a small way to improve the quality life of the underprivileged. Whirlpool is proud to be associated with this cause.”
Whirlpool India has an ongoing partnership with Goonj, an acclaimed, voluntary organisation, in spreading joy to the underprivileged in our societies through the Ek Jodi Kapda initiative.‘Ek Jodi Kapda’ was launched in 2010and helped in facilitating clothes collection for under privileged. Through the initiative Whirlpool took the responsibility of bringing a smile on the faces of the less fortunate ones, by just simply providing them with one of the three basic human necessities: clothes.
