Stonehill Higher Primary School was inaugurated by Shri Kageri Vishweshwara Hegde, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Karnataka. He commended the Embassy Group for developing the higher primary government school and urged other corporates to take up such initiatives to develop 50,000 government schools in the state.
Speaking on the momentous occasion, Mr. Jitendra Virwani, Chairman & Managing Director, Embassy Property Developments said, “For the transformational and inclusive growth of the nation, we need to channelize and streamline our education system for the underserved children of our state and nurture and evolve an eco system that will ultimately help in the upgradation of our society”.
He further added, “I am grateful to the Education Department for allowing Stonehill International School to formally adopt the Government School. With this, we will deliver the best education with modern amenities that will facilitate holistic learning and growth for the children of this village”.
Stonehill International School will be supporting the teaching staff at the Stonehill Government Higher Primary School besides providing necessary grants from time to time, For example: Sports equipment, musical instruments, arts and crafts and other vocational training resources.
Stonehill International School plans to provide the following services to the Government School on an ongoing basis.
1. Provide additional faculty , supplies and teaching resources required by the School
2. Provide assistance and support to set up the Science Labs, Library and Stores
3. Train the staff to maintain the inventory of all the assets of the School
4. Develop extracurricular programs for the School
5. Oversee the maintenance of the School premises
6. Provide additional uniforms for the children and support staff of the School
7. Provide computers and assistance in creating the teaching program material for all classes
8. Pay the salaries of the additional security and cleaning staff
9. With the help of the students of Stonehill International School, develop and interact with the children of the School to design appropriate exchange programs for the overall development of the children on a continuous basis.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by many dignitaries like DB Chandregowda, MP, Krishna Byre Gowda, MLA and Dayanand Reddy, MLC. After the inauguration, Shri Kageri Vishweshwara Hegde, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Karnataka, Jitu Virwani, Chairman and Managing Director, Embassy Group and the other dignitaries, lit the ceremonial lamp which was followed by an enchanting prayer song by the Government School children. Mr. Virwani was honoured with a painting made by the children of the school.

The Stonehill Government Higher Primary School in Jala Hobli, Tarahunse Village, Bangalore North Taluk is situated about 25 Kms from Bangalore City and 12 Kms from Yelahanka and is located between NH7 and Doddaballapur State Highway. This Government school was started as Primary school on 1942 before Independence which during that time was recognized by the Mysore Government with school strength of 45 children. In the year 1981-82 this school was upgraded upto class 7 and in 2003-04 the school was upgraded upto class 8. The school land was donated by Late. Juttanahalli Pillappa & Late. Bandi Kempanna. This facility is planned for 500 students and provides all the infrastructure required upto class 10.
