UST Global expands its India presence with telecom Center of Excellence in Gurgaon
UST Global, an information technology solutions and services company for Global 1000 enterprises, announced today the opening of its center in Gurgaon as the company continues to expand its footprint in India. Located at DLF Cybercity, the campus is UST Global’s first telecom Center of Excellence worldwide, aimed at improving the customer experience and operational efficiencies of Communication Service Providers (CSPs) in the country.

It  will have capabilities in providing consulting, customer service and order management, network management, billing and data warehousing, analytics services, M2M and NOC planning, operations and management.

In addition, the center will provide service delivery for numerous international clients in the telecom and other sectors including healthcare, retail, BFSI and government and is fully integrated into the company’s global network.

Alexander Varghese, Chief Administrative Officer & Country Head, UST Global said: “We chose Gurgaon as a strategic business location and telecom center of excellence for its business environment, talent pool and infrastructure. Owing to its proximity to the national capital, the center will also serve as an anchor for our government sector business in which we are experiencing positive growth prospects We are committed to innovative talent development, management and recruitment in India, and are working towards having as many as 1,000 employees on board in our new center in the next eight to ten months. More than 50% of our human resources will be acquired from lateral hiring.”

“The advent of 3G, 4G, LTE technologies and cloud-based services for M2M or machine-to-machine connectivity and mobility services such as mobile money, mobile health, and mobile education has changed the way service providers cater to their customers.  To remain competitive, they need to be agile, innovative, and incredibly customer focused. The government’s decision to allow 100% foreign direct investment (FDI) in telecom is further expected to change the dynamics. We believe that with our experience of providing wide range of mission-critical IT services in the telecommunications domain and our hybrid global model, UST Global is finely poised to meet the newfound needs of the industry. Our new center of excellence in Gurgaon will cater to needs of telecom service providers, with specialized services such as interoperability testing lab and customized solutions,” said Vivek Varshney, Vice President and head of telecom vertical, UST Global.

UST Global will be hiring professionals specializing in telecom OSS & BSS, network management, and customer experience management as well as those having expertise in emerging areas like M2M communications to support its growth in Gurgaon.
The opening of this new center expands UST Global’s presence in India. This is the fifth global delivery center in addition to campuses in India-headquarter Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Bangalore and Chennai which employ more than 8,500 of the 11,500-strong global workforce.

UST Global unveiled its new facility in Leela Infopark, Kochi, today

California based IT services company UST Global unveiled its new facility in Leela Infopark, Kochi on Monday, 28th of February, 2011. Sajan Pillai, CEO of UST Global inaugurated the complex in traditional style, by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Spread over an area of 34,000 sq ft, the office is styled to the themes of speed, passion and courage to celebrate the company’s partnership with UK based Formula One team Virgin Racing.

The new facility is a fine example for state-of-the-art interior design and is already the center of attention in the city. Speaking at the occasion, Sajan Pillai said, “We were among the first to look at Kerala as an Information Technology services destination, and we have a significant presence in the state today. Expanding our investment in Kerala makes good business sense, given the massive amount of untapped resources and talent available. Kochi will have a major role to play in the next generation of IT services.”

“Our offshore operations have always been centered around South Asia, which is a globally recognized hub of IT talent. Investment in infrastructure goes hand in hand with expansion in employee strength. I would see this as a forerunner to our campus that is coming up in Trivandrum.” Says Alexander Varghese, India Head of UST Global

"With our third, state-of-the-art facility becoming operational, UST Global is poised for a huge growth at Kochi. The availability of a large talent pool of experienced and fresh talent, both in IT and BPO, makes Kochi a strategic location for UST. With our focus on the Global 2000 customer base, we have been able to provide our people the opportunity to work with the best companies in the world which in turn has helped us to attract good talent. The current expansion will elevate the Kochi center from a 'spoke' to 'hub' in UST's 'hub-and-spoke' model, enabling us to grow further to other smaller locations around Kochi." Sunil Balakrishnan, Kochi Center Head for UST Global said.

In addition to the newly commissioned facility, UST Global already has offices in 18 locations, spread across 4 continents. Each is designed in a signature style, according to a specific theme inspired by various factors. For instance, the Manila (Philippines) center of UST Global is decked on the theme of ‘boxing’, to commemorate the legendary 1975 ‘Thrilla in Manila’ Heavyweight Championship match between Joe Frazier and Mohammed Ali held in the city. Similarly, each bay of the UST Global facility in Technopark, Trivandrum has a different look and feel. Amongst the themes used are Hollywood and NBA.

UST Global is also building a new flagship campus in the Special Economic Zone in Trivandrum, the first phase of which is expected to be completed by the end of 2011. Once operational, this 3.6 million sq ft campus shall be the major hub for offshore IT services offered by the organization.
