HE Dr. K. Rosaiah, Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu presented the prestigious ‘Nischal Math Genius Award -2012’ to the ten winners in the presence of dignitaries like Sri S. Jaipal Reddy, Union Cabinet Minister for Earth Sciences & Technology; Sri K. Parthasarathy, Hon'ble Minister for Secondary Education, Govt. of A.P.; Padma Vibhushan Prof. C. R. Rao, FRS, Professor Emeritus and Advisor, CR Rao AIMSCS; Sri R. V. Ramana Murthy, Chairman, A.P. State Cultural Council; Sri Chukka Ramaiah M.L.C., IIT Legend; and eminent mathematicians like Prof. V. Kishan Rao, Registrar, Osmania University; Prof. P. Purushotham Rao, Chairman, Board of Studies in Commerce, O.U.; Prof. K. Yadagiri Director, Telugu Academy; Prof. V. Kanna, Former Pro-Vice Chancellor, HUC; Prof. P. V. Nischal Foundation organized a mega math’s aptitude test spread across two months with over 1 lakh students from 200 schools taking part in the same. 1200 students selected from this process vied for the Awards in the final round of NMGA - 2012 exam at the Ravindra Bharathi auditorium, today.
Speaking on the occasion, Master Nischal Narayanam said, as a tribute to our Great Indian Mathematician Sri Srinivasa Ramanujan the year 2012 has been declared as the National Mathematical year, to commemorate the occasion, Nischal Foundation and NSLS have taken the intiative to provide competitive opportunities for all young students and to convert their Math Fear to Math Joy, through "Nischal Math Genius Award" exam. Though the entire exercise was mammoth, it turned out to be a true delight to unearth the great math’s talent and potential in our school kids, he added.
