Latest Technology in Cancer Treatment, Now in Gwalior
With successful installation of the first Advanced Linear Accelerator Radiation Equipment at the Cancer Centre, BIMR Hospital, Gwalior now has the most advanced technology in cancer care in the entire Madhya Pradesh. This technology has been brought by ClearMedi Healthcare, a specialist advanced medical equipment Services Company that is bringing state-of-the-art cancer care to Tier 2 and Tier3 cities in India at affordable prices.

Linear accelerator is used for treating certain malignant conditions (cancer), as well as nonmalignant conditions by directing high-energy radiation to the exact areas in the body that are affected by cancer. It may be used in combination with surgery and/or chemotherapy. Elekta Ltd, from UK has manufactured the new device, called Synergy Platform and it is already operational.

Dr. Shashi Baliyan, Managing Director, ClearMedi Healthcare said, “This collaboration is yet another step forward in fulfilling ClearMedi’s commitment towards providing advanced medical technologies to people in India at affordable prices.” Dr Shashi Baliyan has given strategic direction to complex medical equipment management industry in India, since inception of Clearview Healthcare and has been a key force in giving birth to ClearMedi's current shape and form, globally.

ClearMedi is well poised to be a leading managed equipment services group, bringing state of art cancer care to Tier 2 and Tier3 cities in India at affordable prices.

Dr. Baliyan added, “Advanced Linear Accelerator Radiation Equipment is the first Linear Accelerator for Gwalior and the only equipment of this technically advanced level in Madhya Pradesh. The treatment is being provided at very affordable CGHS rates. The rates are less than half of the rates in the bigger metro cities. This is possible because of the unique business model of ClearMedi, says Dr. Baliyan, “The services are far more affordable because we do not charge for providing equipments to hospitals and instead share revenues”.

Explaining the technique and its benefits, Mr. Basudev Dalmia, President Trustee,  BIMR Hospital said, “The radiation beams from a linear accelerator can treat a tumour with near exact precision. Using the Synergy Platform, radiation therapists and oncologists at the BIMR Cancer Centre will be able to reduce the area of a patient’s body that receives radiation treatment to more tightly defined areas. This will immensely improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the cancer treatment process and enhance the patient’s experience during treatment.”

BIMR Hospital is a multispecialty hospital which has a dedicated Cancer Center in its campus. Over the past few years it has treated several thousand cancer patients with existing facilities like Surgical Oncology and Chemotherapy.
