Techno India University part of Techno India Group, a prominent private education group in Eastern India will be holding its annual convocation ceremony on 12th August (tomorrow) at the Biswa Bangla Convention centre in New Town Kolkata. Among the notable dignitaries likely to attend the convocation ceremony are the formar President of India Ram Nath Kovind, actress Shabana Azmi, lyricist Gulzar, formar Indian Tennis ace Leandar Paes, Singer Shankar Mahadevan, renowned artist Jogen Chowdhury, cardiac surgeon Dr. Kunal Sarkar among others.
Kolkata-based Techno India Group was founded in 1985 by Goutam Roychowdhury.
In 2023 Techno India University awarded 4,500 students their undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees, including students who completed their degrees during the Covid pandemic time. Infosys founder N.R. Narayana Murthy was the chief guest at the ceremony and delivered the Convocation Speech. Former cricketer Sourav Ganguly and eminent author Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay were honoured with Doctor of Letters degrees for contributions in their respective fields.
