National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) organized the two-day NASSCOM Diversity & Inclusion Summit 2011 at the Leela Palace, Bengaluru. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Som Mittal, President, NASSCOM said “The Indian IT-BPO industry was amongst the first to recognize the strategic importance of creating a diverse and inclusive environment. The industry has come a long way and the maturity of diversity initiatives stands out in many cases; at the same time, differences in approaches to implementation show differing philosophies and thinking. NASSCOM-PwC Corporate Awards for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion provide a wonderful opportunity to showcase the various diversity initiatives undertaken across the sector, and also provide insight into trends that are shaping the diversity agenda. I would like to congratulate all the winners on behalf of the industry and thank them for their admirable effort towards promoting gender empowerment.”

Over the years, NASSCOM’s sustained efforts to build awareness on diversity through various forums have resulted in a significant increase in participations in the Corporate Awards for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion.
