Vijaya Bank MSME Loan Mela-2011- 10th December, 2011

Vijaya Bank is organizing MSME Loan Mela-2011 on 10.12.2011 at Peenya Industries Association, 1st Cross, 1st Stage, Peenya Industrial Estate, Bangalore with a view to aggressively expand the MSME Loan portfolio of the bank. The event was inaugurated by Sri H S Upendra Kamath, Chairman and Managing Director of Vijaya Bank on 10.12.2011 at 10:00 am and Sri M. Maheshwar Rao, IAS, Commissioner for Industrial Development & Director of Industries and Commerce, Karnataka was the Chief Guest. A large number of MSME Customers based in Bangalore is taking part in the event and the prospective customers will be having an opportunity to choose from a wide range of MSME Products on display. The Chairman and Managing Director of the Bank in his inaugural speech mentioned about “the importance of MSME sector in view of their contribution to employment generation and GDP. Vijaya Bank is focusing on the growth MSME advances and there by the MSME sector”. The Loans to this sector clocked 19% growth from Rs. 6272 crore to Rs.7453 Crore during the first half of the current financial year. In this background, the bank has taken a progressive decision to conduct MSME Loan Mela-2011 in all centers of the country.



The aim of this Mela is to focus on the MSME sector with regard to their financing and meeting their requirement and also to support the various GOI initiatives like CGTMSE, PMEGP taken for the growth of this Sector. Vijaya Bank being one of the growing public sector banks has always been keen in meeting their social and economic obligation towards MSME Sector. The year 2011-12 has been identified as year for Retail Advances and Recovery, MSME form a major sector of the same. Added attraction to prospective customer will be display of MSME products by various SSI/Industries. The one day event is open from 9:45 am to 6:00 pm. A large number of prospective borrowers visited the venue on that day.
