Who is the most stylish of them all? Reveals an exclusive survey by Yahoo! India

India’s love story with Bollywood is eternal – a recent survey by Yahoo! India, the premier digital media company, reaffirms our fascination with the dream merchants. The online survey, conducted amongst a cross-section of Yahoo! users visiting our sites such as Movies, News, Lifestyle and omg!, reveals that Hrithik Roshan (18%) is considered the Ultimate Style Icon of India, followed closely by M.S. Dhoni (16%) and Shahrukh Khan (15%).

Three-fourths of the survey respondents comprised the youth (aged between 18- 34 years). Interestingly, 42% of the survey participation came from users not residing in the top eight metros – clearly reflecting the expanding reach of the Internet in tier 2 cities, and the continued fascination of Indians with glamour and glitterati.

Tinsel Town leads all the way, well almost!
Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan have the highest style quotient amongst celebrity couples, according to 50% of respondents.
Big B (Amitabh Bachchan), with his magnetic personality, wins the power dresser crown by a huge 56% vote majority, followed by Ratan Tata (19%) and Sonia Gandhi (9%).
40% survey respondents felt that style and technology go hand in hand for Aamir Khan, while 14% associate it with Shahrukh, and 10% with Priyanka Chopra.

Women vs. men: who scores on style?
With women leading the pack across five ‘style icon’ categories, it is clear that the majority vests there.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (34%) is a clear winner as the celebrity who dresses best for the red carpet, while Deepika Padukone (18%) and Shahrukh (16%) occupy a distant second and third place respectively.
Bollywood and Politics battle it out in the ‘being traditional’ arena, with Rekha emerging as the best dressed in traditional Indian attire, with Narendra Modi a close second.

Indian netizens catch on to ‘unique fashion’
Along with her power-packed performances in Kahaani and The Dirty Picture, Vidya Balan also sets the charts ringing with her unique fashion sense, say 32% respondents.
Despite the recent turbulent times, the ‘King of Good Times’ prevails in the minds of people, with 19% admiring Vijay Mallya for his distinctive sense of fashion.
Who can forget Bappi Lahiri’s gold chains and golden outfits? 18% voted for him, followed by Ekta Kapoor (8%), Jayalalitha (6%), Gul Panag (4%) and Kalki Koechlin (3%).

Ruling the “home government”- glamorous wives
In an interesting sway from the overall trend, Bollywood takes second place in this category with the glamorous Nita Ambani winning over one-third of all votes, to become the most stylish celeb-wife, trumping Gauri Khan and Suzanne Roshan.

A different kind of pitch
51% respondents voted for ‘Mr. Dependable’ Virat Kohli as having the best presence on the ramp, from the non model club.
Cricket retained its supremacy on the ramp, with none other than Dhoni coming a close second.

New-age moms take the hot seat
Glamour queen Malaika Arora Khan is the most stylish celebrity mother, according to 37% respondents.
Twinkle Khanna and Priyanka Gandhi tie for second place.
