Canadian International School (CIS) Bangalore organized its annual Festival of the Arts recently with many interesting activities and performances. The event, a hub of creative synergy was designed to create a festive event experience and community celebration. The fair had visual & performing arts, puppet show, drama performance, art exhibition, paper making, poetry recitation, declamation contest, workshops on traditional Indian Dance, Art fair, pottery workshop, Kyogen Workshop (Japanese), Group dance, cheer leading, logo design competition and closing of ceremony by Rock Gigs by two Rock Bands – TAAQ& Chromatix.
Through the last 16 years, TAAQ has played all over India, completed tours in the USA, United Kingdom, West Asia, China and South-East Asia, released five studio albums, supported acts like Guns N'Roses, Deep Purple and Jethro Tull, and won awards for individual musicianship as well as overall contribution to Indian Rock. Some of the songs performed at CIS include: "Meter Mele One-and-a-Half", "Look At Me", "Galacktiqua", "Simply Be", "Sanity in Gravity" and "Respectable". Some of the covers included Beatles classics such as "Hey Jude", "With a little help from my friends" and "Day Tripper".
The current lineup of CHROMATIX is Sandeep Boniface (vocals/keyboard), Brian Bangera (lead guitar), Prashanth Singh (bass guitar), and Avoy (drums). CHROMATIX is certainly one of few bands that can play a wide variety of music such as Western Classical, Classic Rock, and Pop, Rock ‘N Roll, Fusion, and Heavy Metal. Their show at CIS was a hit. They worked the crowd into a frenzy with their rendition of hits like “Eye of the Tiger”, “The Final Countdown” and “Ghost Busters”.
