In a further boost to the party outside West Bengal, the former Meghalaya Governor and former DGP, Kerala, DG BSF and DG NSG, Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary and former Jharkhand Minister Chandrasekhar Dubey have joined the Trinamool Congress.
The Trinamool All India general secretary Mukul Roy Sunday told reporters at a Press conference, that apart from the two, Odhisa state Congress general secretary Arya Kumar Gyanendra has also joined the party along with his supporters.
The Trinamool Congress Chairperson Ms. Mamata Banerjee has already declared two candidates from Jharkhand- Bandhu Tirkey in Ranchi and Chamra Linda in Lohargarh.
After the party supremo declared at the party`s rally in the Brigade parade ground that in the ensuing Lok Sabha poll her party would contest not only from Bengal but also from across the nation, many political parties or individuals reportedly contacted Mr Roy.
Since Anna Hazare made it known that he will work with Ms. Mamata Banerjee to install a clean government at the Centre and agreed to decide on who would be the Trinamool Congress candidate outside Bengal, there was apparently a craze among individuals to join the Trinamool Congress, Mr Roy said.
Mr Dubey later told reporters that though he was a seven-time MLA on the Congress ticket, he, at present, has left the Congress because of its corruption.
