New team of FLO Hyderabad assumes charge
A change of guard took place at FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), Hyderabad today. Team headed by Ms. Jyotsna Angara as Chairperson and Governing Board Member assumed office.

A graduate in Psychology, Sociology from Osmania University, Jyotsna has over a two decades of experience in Corporate Communications, Media Relations, Branding and related fields.

The other office bearers include Monika Agarwal-Sr. Vice-Chairperson and Governing Board Member; Rekha Lahoti- Vice-Chairperson; K. Aparna Reddy -Secretary; Sumalatha Chitti--Joint Secretary; Kamini Saraf--Treasurer; G. Aparna Reddy--Governing Board Member and National Nominee.

New Team of Young FICCI Ladies Organisation (YFLO) headed by  Ashita Nawalgariah--Chairperson and Governing Board Member; Shakuntala Divi---Vice-Chairperson; Samia Alam Khan---Secretary;  Shruti Malpani--Treasurer; Ritu Shah--Program Mentor will assumed charge

These new office bearers will be in office for one year.  The installation function was graced by Mr. G.V. Sanjay Reddy Vice Chairman of GVK Group as Chief Guest and also delivered a key note address "Business and Beyond ”.  While addressing the gathering, he said the job of a Leadership is not to make money but meaning.  He talked about three passionate areas where he is associated with which include GVK Projects, GVK Foundation and CII (Confederation of Indian Industries). In every one of these areas I would like to leave an impact he said

Speaking further he informed about how things beyond business are shaping about at two of the Indian Airports—Mumbai and Bangalore the GVK owns. Mumbai Airport is the most constrained Airport in the world in terms of land, he said and added that Mumbai Airport has 1400 acres, as against 5000 each in Hyderabad, Delhi Airports, 3800 at Bangalore, 30,000 acres in Bangkok and Kaula Lumpur.

And informed about plans to unveil the largest art program of any public building in the world coming up at Mumbai Airport. Where 1.2 kms long wall with about 18 met height and 80.000sq ft will bear the 6000 plus art pieces from 8 to 18th collected from across India.  Over 1000 craftsmen are working there, he said.  India is rich in its arts and crafts, which we can showcase to the world through this Art program he said.  We don’t have to sell India to the world.  Today unfortunately, we have to sell India to Indians, he said.

Talking about state of affairs at Bangalore Airport he said Bangalore is synonymous for Gardens. Unfortunately, the same are vanished from the sight.  Hence, we are building a terminal with a garden. Unlike in Changi Airport in Singapore where there is a garden in the Airport, here, Airport will be in the Garden, he said. Once it is completed in next four to five years it will be the World’s first Garden Terminal, he said.
He also spoke about GVKs ambitious project GVK EMRI (Emergency Management and Research Institute), a pioneer in Emergency Management Services in India.  He spoke about how EMRI is handling medical, police and fire emergencies through the "1-0-8 Emergency service". This is a free service delivered through state- of -art emergency call response centres and has over 5550 ambulances across Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and 2 Union Territories Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. Our a vision is to respond to 30 million emergencies and save 1 million lives annually currently .
Earlier in her welcome address Ms. Jyotsna, newly installed Chairperson said 100 billion businesses are owned by women, who produce 15 to 18 million employment and generate US $ 3 trillion business
Commenting about her taking over of the FLO activities as Chairperson, Jyotsna Angara said “as we all know, women are becoming part of the national resurgence towards development in all spheres. And although they are making a significant contribution, their work goes largely unnoticed. No one realizes this better than FLO. I will strive hard to make a difference to the community, she informed”.
FICCI Ladies Organisation is a national body with the prime objective of women empowerment through the promotion of entrepreneurship and managerial excellence. Established in 1983, FLO is a division of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), which is the apex body of Industry and Chambers of Commerce in India.

FLO t is one of the most prestigious pan-India business organizations with 10 chapters and nearly 3200 members across India, committed to working towards women empowerment through business women development and capacity building initiatives besides other programmes.

The Hyderabad Chapter began its operations in the year2002 and has a membership base of about 400 members.

Some of the services and activities of the FLO include: Personality Development, Awareness Programs, Training, Business Consultancy, Networking and Recognition.

FLO also has Young FLO (YFLO), a forum for the career women, it is a community of career women between 20 and 39.
