Pangea3 Opens Major U.S. Location

Pangea3, the global leader in legal process outsourcing, is opening a new office in suburban Dallas, Texas. This move is part of a broader strategy by Thomson Reuters to expand its footprint in the growing legal process outsourcing market with new pan-global, cost-effective services that meet the changing needs of the legal marketplace, and of legal professionals in corporations and law firms today.
Thomson Reuters acquired Pangea3 in November, 2010. The Dallas office, when combined with Pangea3’s major offices in Mumbai and New Delhi where more than 650 employees are located, will provide customers with a greatly expanded workday and a follow-the-sun workflow model for a number of Pangea3’s offerings. The Dallas location also will offer efficiency and savings for customers who may be new to legal process outsourcing as a strategic alternative to doing tasks such as document review in-house. Finally, employees in the new office will be able to take on tasks that customers – including law firm customers – want to source externally, but involve matters that by law have to be managed and performed in the United States, for instance matters subject to export controls regulations.
“Pangea3 has never been about where work gets done...it’s about how it gets done,” said Sanjay Kamlani, co-CEO of Pangea3 along with U.S.-based counterpart David Perla. “We see our business operations and service area as global, with teams in the United States, Europe and Asia. Opening a location in the United States is critical to delivering comprehensive solutions that our clients want and need. And from the standpoint of our lawyers in India, this expansion creates yet another opportunity for truly global career experiences.”
Pangea3 is a key component of the Thomson Reuters strategy to help law firms and corporate counsel be more efficient and productive. The company’s team of top-tier legal talent uses rigorous Six Sigma methodologies to ensure consistent high-quality legal services and offers a variety of services organized into four distinct lines of business including legal document review, corporate transactions, intellectual property, and risk management and compliance.
“This is an exciting time for Pangea3, and this expansion in the United States only months after our acquisition shows the value of having a major player like Thomson Reuters in your corner,” said Perla. “Expanding our business model to include multiple centers of excellence will allow us to staff work based on the needs of the customer to a degree not possible before, and the work done in the United States will be steeped in our commitment to delivering the same high-quality, process-driven and high-touch client service that customers have come to expect from the Pangea3 offices in Mumbai and Delhi.”
