AirAsia India (“AAI”) posted load factor of 84% in Q4 FY15, up 1 ppt with a total of 0.51 million passengers carried. At the end of the quarter, AAI’s total fleet stood at 6 aircraft as 1 aircraft was added during the quarter. One new route was introduced in 4Q15: New Delhi – Visakhapatnam, whilst frequencies were increased on two routes: New Delhi – Goa and Guwahati.

22 remains of AirAsia's QZ 8501 passengers have been recovered so far
Total of twenty two remains of AirAsia,'s QZ 8501 passengers have been recovered so far.The handover of the remains from AirAsia to the families took place earlier today at Bhayangkara Hospital, Surabaya.Three more passengers on board QZ 8501 were identified as Grayson Herbert Linaksita (male), Khairunisa Haidar Fauzi (female), and Kevin Alexander Sutjipto (male).Khairunisa Haidar Fauzi was one of the flight attendants on board of QZ 850.
Singapore's RSS Valour has recovered several items belonging to passengers from AirAsia Flight QZ 8501 on Friday morning (Jan 2).
Items recovered during the Search and Rescue (SAR) operations include one black suitcase, a gas tube and some debris from the aircraft.

Search and rescue operation for missing #AirAsia jet suspended
An AirAsia flight carrying 162 people, including one Briton, has lost contact with air traffic control between Indonesia and Singapore.
Rescuers scouring the Java Sea for a missing AirAsia Indonesia plane with 162 aboard halted their search at nightfall on Sunday and will resume on Monday, Indonesia’s transport ministry said.
AirAsia Flight QZ8501 was travelling from Surabaya to Singapore on Sunday morning, had 155 passengers and seven crew members on board. There were 155 Indonesians, one Singaporean, one Malaysian, one French, one British and three South Koreans.
“The aircraft was on the submitted flight plan route and was requesting deviation due to en route weather before communication with the aircraft was lost while it was still under the control of the Indonesian air traffic control,” AirAsia said in a statement.
Nationality wise breakdown of passenger and crew on board QZ8501 as follows:

3 South Korea

AirAsia India would start selling tickets from tomorrow and will begin commercial flights from June 12, according to its Global chief executive officer Tony Fernandes. AirAsia India is a joint venture, partnering AirAsia, Tata Sons Limited and Mr. Arun Bathia of Telestra Tradeplace Pvt. Ltd. recently, AirAsia India has received AOP to start flying commercially.
The Chennai-based airline plans to offer fares lower than its competitors by keeping a tight check on costs and would fly to most cities across India. The airline aims to have a fleet of between 28 and 30 leased, Airbus A320 single-aisle planes by December 2015. AirAsia India’s fleet will be drawn from the 475 A320 Family aircraft ordered by the AirAsia Group. Almost a third of the aircraft on order have already been delivered and are flying on AirAsia Group’s operations out of Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila and now Chennai. Meanwhile, Jet Airways (India) Ltd., the India's second-biggest carrier, has sold a 24% stake to Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways.

India’s newest airline, AirAsia India, has taken delivery of its first aircraft, an Airbus A320 equipped with Sharklets, becoming the newest operator of the type. Chennai-based AirAsia India will take delivery of an additional nine aircraft for its initial fleet of 10 A320s, to serve India’s rapidly growing domestic air traffic. Powered by CFM engines, the aircraft is configured in an all economy layout with 180 seats.
The new airline is a joint venture between AirAsia Group, Tata Sons and Telstra Tradeplace.
“Indian domestic traffic is growing at an impressive rate and our well established and successful business model suits the market,” said Mittu Chandilya, AirAsia India CEO. “AirAsia and Airbus have a long-standing, special relationship. We are fully confident that with our new A320 fleet we will provide the Indian passenger the service and convenient travel options already offered by the AirAsia Group elsewhere in the region.
“In the next 20 years, more people will travel by air for the first time in India and China than anywhere else,” said John Leahy, Chief Operating Officer, Customers. “India’s domestic air transport growth is leading the world and will propel India to be one of the largest civil aviation markets by 2032. AirAsia India’s fleet will be drawn from the 475 A320 Family aircraft ordered by the AirAsia Group. To date, almost a third of the aircraft on order have already been delivered and are flying on AirAsia Group’s operations out of Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila and now Chennai. The AirAsia Group has also ordered 51 A330s and 10 A350 XWBs for its long haul affiliate AirAsia X.
