Samsung Electronics, a global leader in digital convergence technologies, has launched a wireless Bluetooth speaker; the DA-F61 provides a convenient way of listening to music from portable devices at home or on your travel/outdoors.

Designed to accompany high-end products with its wire-free and universal connectivity, the DA-F61 speaker is truly a work of art with slim design, whole metallic finish, silver bezel and elegant side control buttons that makes it an attractive and eye catching gadget.

The DA-F61 wireless speaker is equipped with the most advanced Near-Field Communications (NFC) technology that makes it easier for users to pair the speakers with other portable devices via Bluetooth 3.0 or by effortlessly touching devices together. If the device does not support Bluetooth or NFC, the DA-F61 permits connection via 3.5mm jack, giving you superior sound quality and portability regardless of your preferred source. Another interesting feature of the DA-F61 is SoundShare that allows users the flexibility to pair the speakers with a TV to enhance the sound quality of your favourite TV show, movie and sporting event without making it louder.

The DA-F61 wireless speaker delivers the same audio quality as a Hi-Fi sound system and incorporates a built in battery that gives users approximately up to 10 hours of playback on a full charge. Supporting apt-X technology, the DA-F61 delivers high-definition audio without loss of quality, while the neodymium speaker and a passive bass radiator produce dynamic, accurate and crisp sound for improved listening experience. The bass level can also be controlled and tailored to your taste which adds to the appeal of the DA-F61.

The enhanced auditory UI and LED indicators on the DA-F61 eliminate the need for physical buttons and add more function and style to the portable sound system. The conveniently placed LED indicators allow easy access and visualisation of the speaker’s operating status, while the Auditory UI helps to fine-tune settings.

Connectivity options include the standard 3.5mm headset jack, a USB port for service use and a port for the DC power adapter. Samsung India and DTE sign MoU to set up Samsung Technical Labs at ITIs
Samsung India Electronics Pvt. Ltd. today signed a MoU with the Department of Technical Education (DTE) to set up an Advanced Repair and Industrial Skills Enhancement (A.R.I.S.E) Training Program and Samsung Technical Labs’ across Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) in India.  The first ‘Samsung Technical Lab’ is being set up Sir C.V. Raman Industrial Training Institute at Dheerpur, Delhi. The  ‘Samsung Advanced Repair and Industrial Skill Enhancement’ Program aims to provide actual hands-on industry relevant work experience to the students participating in the government recognized technical courses. The MoU was signed between Mr. Daniel Park, Senior Vice President, Samsung India and Mr. Rajendra Kumar (IAS), Secretary, Department of Technical Education. Other dignitaries present on the occasion, included Mr. S.N Jha (IAS) Director, Training & Technical Education, Department of Technical Education and Mr. Lokpal, Principal, Sir C.V. Raman ITI.

Students in the A.R.I.S.E program will be provided training on various aspects of repair and troubleshooting for consumer electronics products such as Mobile Phones, Televisions, Home Theatres, Home Appliances and their related accessories. Students will also benefit from exposure to Samsung manufacturing facilities and authorized service centers.

Mr. Daniel Park said, “Our vision is to create a large pool of talented manpower with practical know-how and relevant industry experience, which is essential in the industry environment defined by changing technology. Through the Samsung A.R.I.S.E program we aim to increase student engagement, skill enhancement and ensure better employability for ITI Students.” Samsung A.R.I.S.E training program includes education sessions in an interactive manner as well as practical sessions including detailed demonstrations.

Being initiated with Sir C.V. Raman I.T.I in Dheerpur (Delhi), the A.R.I.S.E program and Samsung Labs will expand to cover other ITIs in India. Complementing the regular syllabus prescribed by the ‘State Technical Education Board’, Samsung A.R.I.S.E program focuses on core technical education, offering education and training to students to address specific product service challenges. Access to the basics of technology, innovative Samsung products, installation, service and repair training along with soft skills for consumer interaction will be provided by trained staff from Samsung Customer Satisfaction Academy, through both theory as well as hands-on practical knowledge. The training package to the ITI consists of product training across mobile phones, television, washing machines, refrigerators and air conditioners along with their respective toolkits, spare parts and course content.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rajendra Kumar said, “By working in collaboration with a leading technology company like Samsung, we are aiming to better fulfill the expectations of the industry from our students. Through the Samsung A.R.I.S.E program, we will enable our students to gain better industry experience and enhance their overall learning and retention.” The MoU will be initially for a period of three years and can be mutually renewed going forward.

With built-in grill and convection oven elements, the Smart Oven (MC32F604TCT) is a combination of smart technology and high-quality cooking performance to inspire users to conveniently express their culinary creations in preparing healthy, great-tasting meals. The Smart Oven also conserves energy and saves space in consumer’s kitchens.

Compact by design, the Smart Oven incorporates the sophisticated Slim Fry technology to cook crispy, fried-style food using only a tablespoon of oil. By combining a grill with warm air circulation, food is cooked crispy inside and out without a deep fryer, while using upto 80% less fat. Samsung Expanding Transparent Display Market

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced today that it is expanding the transparent display market with production of a 46-inch transparent LCD panel, beginning this month.

Younghwan Park, senior vice president of LCD marketing, Device Solutions, Samsung Electronics, said, “Transparent panels, an exciting application of next-generation display technology, have unlimited potential to change our viewing habits over the next several years. As a strong supporter of the transparent display market, Samsung plans to develop this technology into a new growth engine for our LCD business.”

Samsung’s 46-inch transparent LCD panel features a contrast ratio of 4,500:1 with HD (1,366x768) resolution and 70 percent color gamut.

A 2012 CES Innovations Award honoree, Samsung’s transparent LCD panel is being produced for a wide variety of retail display applications such as product showcases, commercial freezer doors and platform doors of subway stations in North America, Europe and Asia. Also, it will be used in other applications including e-boards, information windows, medical equipment, e-signage and mobile devices.

Samsung’s 22-inch transparent LCD panel, which is now being commercialized, has been well received by customers and potential customers in the mobile devices, jewelry and luxury goods sectors due to its compact size and low power consumption, in addition to its attention-grabbing display qualities.

According to market research firm Display Bank, the transparent display market is expected to grow from US$0.9 billion in 2015 to US$87 billion in 2025.

Mr. B D Park appointed Regional President & CEO for Samsung South West Asia Operations

Mr. B D Park has been appointed as the President and CEO of Samsung South West Asia Operations and Managing Director, Samsung India Electronics Ltd. by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. Mr. Park, who was Head of Mobile and IT Division at Samsung India as Director, Mobile and IT assumes his new role from today. He succeeds Mr. Jung Soo Shin who was President & CEO for Samsung South West Asia from February 2009 till date.


In his role as President & CEO of Samsung South West Asia Regional HQ, Mr. Park will oversee the operations of Samsung India Electronics Pvt. Ltd. (SIEL); Samsung India Software Operations (SISO), Samsung’s R & D Centre at Bangalore; Samsung India Software Center (SISC) and SEL India, Samsung’s R&D Centers at Noida as well as the Company’s operations in the SAARC Region.

Mr. Park brings with him over 28 years of work experience at Samsung having started his career with Samsung Electro Mechanics Co. Ltd in 1983. He joined Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd in 1991 and has worked in the Overseas Marketing Planning Group in Korea; Samsung Latin America RHQ and was the Head of the Company’s subsidiary at Chile. He became the Director of the Mobile Export team in 2001 and became the Head of South East Asia /South West Asia/Middle East Marketing Group in Global Mobile Business in 2004. He came to India as the Head of Mobile and IT Division in 2008 and has now been elevated to the position of President & CEO, Samsung South West Asia.

Under Mr. Park’s leadership, Samsung has emerged as a market leader in the fast growing Smartphone market in India and the Company’s market share in Mobiles has grown from 6% in 2008 to over 30 % as on date. Mr. Park is well known within Samsung for his very practical management style, innovative channel management and his customer oriented approach.
