8th edition of Annual #MayDay celebration with construction workers by CREDAI #Bengaluru




The main event took place at Mount Carmel College Grounds, Vasanthnagar. CREDAI-Bengaluru hosted around 678 labourers in this celebration.Activities at the event included sporting events such as , running races - 100 meters and 200 meters, shot put and long jump. The activities for the day were followed by felicitation ceremony, distribution of prizes, Lunch and mementos to participating Labourers.
Suresh Hari, Vice President, CREDAI Bengaluru said, “May Day or  Labour’s Day is  celebrated on May 1st every year and this is the 8th edition of CREDAI Bengaluru. This gives us the platform to conduct these activities and  we dedicate such day for our labourers, where we recognize their talent through Sports activities which are planned for this day for fun games with food for all and even for their families.

Government School on the outskirts of #Bangalore gets Modern Auditorium

Round Table India and Ladies Circle India, in association with Timken Foundation, inaugurated a state-of-the-art auditorium at the Government Model Primary School in Hebbagodi, on the outskirts of Bangalore. The initiative to construct this advanced facility was taken to provide a platform for students to learn and practice Performing Arts while promoting their importance.


Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Christopher Arvinth, President of Round Table India, said, “Art is a medium which is not given enough attention like other disciplines which are considered to be the sole subjects of learning. However, art is a sphere where creativity is fundamental, and is essential for all pupils along with the curriculum for a holistic growth. Thus, the auditorium is an effort to promote art among students for their comprehensive learning.”

Adding to this, Mr. Sanjay Koul,Chairman and Managing Director, of Timken India Limited, said, “Unfortunately, not many schools have access to amenities like auditoriums to tap the potential of students. Our hope is that this auditorium is used to its optimum level to bring out the best in the students and to promote art as a necessary part of the curriculum.”

Bengaluru: Bizlab a part of Airbus’ innovative strategy to bring together start-ups and Airbus “intrapreneurs” to work and speed up the transformation of innovative ideas into valuable businesses. Through its six month “acceleration programme” for early stage projects, Airbus Bizlab gives access to a large number of coaches, experts and mentors in various domains.



The call for applications for Season three in Bengaluru is now open and BizLab is inviting interested B2B startups to apply for the acceleration program.

Airbus BizLab has announced the successful culmination of its second season through a flagship event in Bengaluru. At the event, the start-ups who were selected to work with different Airbus teams in India and across the world over the last six months showcased their concept models and ideas of transforming the aerospace sector.

Rs.15,000 cr. Indian sanitary ware industry is growing at 10-15%, says @abukoya #Geberit India head

Indian sanitaryware industry is about ₹15,000 crore and is growing at about 10-15 per cent per annum said Abubaker Koya, Managing Director, Geberit in India.By product type, India Ceramic Sanitary ware market is segmented into wash basins, water closets, cisterns, vanity basins and accessories. Koya addressing reporters to announce the company’s one million concealed cisterns installation in India across residential and commercial properties in India, said: “Concealed cisterns was a new concept to India when we entered the market.From addressing the fear of how hidden cisterns would work, to practising the concept of water and space saving benefits, the team had to articulate and educate both the trade partners and end customers.”


Interestingly the Sanitary Industry in particular, has kept pace with the reality industry (real estate) growth in India at about 10-15% per annum. However, the premium segment within this, where companies like Geberit are major players, has grown at a higher rate >20% per annum.”

“Within the toilets segment, one is seeing a major shift to wall-hung toilets. Due to this change, the new flushing systems (concealed cisterns) market is evolving in a big way and Geberit is a major player in that area today,” he added.

Rs.400-crore fund to accelerate #startups in #Karnataka says Min. @PriyankKharge



Bengaluru:Karnataka government will soon launch a startup booster kit to encourage entrepreneurship and business initiatives in the state, Karnataka IT Minister Priyank Kharge said it in his inaugural address at opening of the two-day Global Mobile Apps Summit and Awards 2017 (GMASA2017) in Bengaluru yesterday.

He said the government has a startup policy to stimulate the spirit of entrepreneurship in the state. The government has set up Rs 400-crore fund to accelerate 100 startups from each sector. “The only objective is to help startups succeed. We provide all support including idea validation, legal help, access to funds and mentorship. Karnataka is the only state to set up an exclusive fund to support companies that are into animation and gaming,” Kharge said. Startups will get subsidised plans for high-speed internet, incubator facility, subsidised licence products, mentor facility, financial experts, accounting and legal assistance as well to create a conducive startup ecosystem in the state.

Welcoming Priyank Kharge on to the stage, C R Venkatesh, Chairman, GMASA, said this edition of GMASA is receiving 1,600 participants including mobile app developers, marketers, managers and executive from some of the best companies around the world. The event is being supported by 19 corporate partners and 12 sponsors.

Transcendental Meditation guru Maharshi Mahesh Yogi's birth anniversary celebrations in #B'luru tomorrow

Visvesvaraya's Century Club turns 100

Sir M. Visvesvaraya founded Century Club organised several programmes as part of its centenary celebrations.It includeed a fashion show depicting the royal dynasty, pancha veena recital and dances, planting of 100 saplings in the club and in Cubbon Park.


Century Club was founded by Sir M. Visvesvaraya in 1917. The club has 6,300 members, including 2,000 women as well.According to club sources nearly 3,200 applicants on the waiting list for 20-25 years. Some of its eminent members include Professor U R Rao, actors Ambareesh and Bharati Vishnuvardhan, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble and Prakash Padukone among others.The Mysuru royal family members including the new Maharaja Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar are patron members of the club.

The service will help to identify visually challenged people in rural areas of Karnataka and provide comprehensive rehabilitation services. With less than 30% of patients receiving rehabilitation services, Maitri was conceptualized to provide rehabilitation to visually impaired patients at their doorstep, helping them become independent and improve their quality of life. Microsoft has contributed funding to build and launch the bus under its commitment to corporate social responsibility and meeting the provisions of Schedule VII of the Companies 2013 Act.

#BBMP's Akrama-Sakrama scheme gets #Karnataka HC's nod;PIL dismissed

The scheme envisages one-time regularisation of building deviation (up to 50 per cent in case of residential and up to 25 per cent in case of commercial) and illegal land development in the jurisdiction of all urban local bodies, including the BBMP, in the State. As per an estimate by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), there are more than two lakh unauthorised residential plots (also called ‘B’ khata plots) in its jurisdiction and over five lakh buildings have been constructed violating the building bye-laws.


The PIL filed in the Karnataka High Court against the implementation of the scheme has been dismissed.The scheme will be not applicable for Govt lands, encroachments and building construction on high drains.

31 builders & 3 banks took part in 2nd CREDAI-#Bengaluru Home Expo 2016

#Apple to set up #iOS app design and development accelerator in #Bengaluru India

 

Apple's Bengaluru center will be provide specialized access and support to local developers looking to build iOS, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Watch apps, the company said.Apple's Bengaluru cente is expected to serve a similar function to Apple's European iOS development center in Naples, Italy, which will provide developers with the practical skills and training they need to contribute to the app ecosystem.The company earlier this year opened a tech center in Hyderabad.

IDE organized the 5th edition of RESCOM to bring Tier 2 and Tier 3 builders in direct contact with quality suppliers.The Summit aims to bridge the gap between the two segments by ensuring that key decision-makers from both sides are a part of the summit and have first choice on the brands that they would like to interact with.



This year’s edition of RESCOM saw close to 77 participants among the procures and 42 from the suppliers. Among the procurers in attendance were Puravankara Projects, EMAAR MGF, Piramal Group, Reliance Industries, Shapoorji-Pallonji and Godrej Properties. Among the suppliers were brands like Durian, Hafele, Panasonic, Hepzhi and Voltas .

Rs 117 cr fine imposed by NGT on @mantriblr




Key highlights of the operative part of the judgment:

a)      Buffer zone for construction around lakes increased from 30 meters to 75 meters

b)      Buffer zone around rajakaluves to be measured from the edge of the drain. The revised buffer zone is 50 meters, 35 meters and 25 meters for primary, secondary and tertiary drains respectively.

c)       All existing constructions in the city, which fall within such buffer zones, has been directed to be demolished and no further constructions shall be permitted in the buffer zone.

d)      Mantri has been directed to restore the 3 acre 10 hunts encroached lake bed area immediately to the authorities.


e)      SEIAA (State Environmental Impact assessment Agency) has been directed to amend the environmental clearance of both the project proponents and all further constructions of these two projects shall be conducted under the monitoring of SEIA.

f)       State of Karnataka has been directed to submit a proposal demarcating wetlands within 4 weeks to MoEF whereafter the same shall be notified.

g)      There is a combined direction to remove the muck/debris deposited in the rajakaluve within 4 weeks failing which LDA shall undertake the same and charges shall have to be paid by the two builders.

h)      SEIAA has also been directed to prepare a muck-disposal plan within 3 months.

Namma Bengaluru Foundation (NBF) has welcomed the judgement.
