.@keventeragro & WB Govt deal for Metro Dairy stake sale under @dir_ed lence ; @adhirrcinc wants CBI probe

ED investigation on Metro Dairy stake sale begins

West Bengal Animal resources development secretary B.P. Gopalika IAS gives al files related the sale to ED for probe

Kolkata : The sale of the 47 per cent stake by West Bengal Govt in Metro Dairy Ltd to its private partner Keventer Agro, which had 53 per cent share, in 2017 is under ED scanner. The West Bengal cabinet on August 23, 2017 had given its nod to divest the state government's equity in the Metro Dairy and sell it to Keventer Agro for Rs.85.5 cr. Later Keventer Agro sold 15 percent of its stake in Metro Dairy to a Singapore based company for Rs.170 cr.

Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury filed a case in Calcutta High Court for alleged corruption in the Metro Dairy share selling case and  demanded CBI probe in this case.

Metro Dairy, the country's first dairy project in public-private partnership model that began in the early 1990s, was set up as a tripartite venture among the West Bengal Milk Producers Federation Ltd, Keventer Agro and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). The NDDB later sold its 10 per cent stake to Keventer Agro.

Pet Care in #Monsoon

During monsoons, thunder and blowing wind can frighten even the calmest of animals making your pet scared and wanting to escape. Interestingly, some pets may suffer from storm anxiety and can get pretty distraught. Their symptoms can range from mild to severe- shaking, pulling out their own hair, hiding, biting, and excessive chewing. In case your pet does escape and run away, proper and current identification is one of the only ways you can help ensure his safe return. There are anti-anxiety drugs available with vets to help ease the pet’s stress and fear during a thunderstorm.

Parasites like mosquitoes, flies and fleas too attack the pets during monsoons causing infections and diseases like flea bite allergy, fever etc. As a responsible pet owner, we should ensure that the pets are treated with regular worm medication, tick and flea treatments during these seasons.

Dogs also have an uncanny habit of chasing wild creatures like lizards, frogs and spiders. Dogs love to either eat them or hold them in their mouth; these creatures are quite toxic and holding them has actually led to violent deaths of some of the dogs around the world. The best way to protect them from getting poisoned from eating lizards or toads is to be outside with them, inspect your gardens and surroundings regularly, and not to leave them outside unattended for very long.

It is important to realize that with monsoons come infections, especially from fresh meat like beef, chicken or any meat that you would be feeding your pet. Ensure that you buy meat from shops, which maintain very high hygiene standards or feed them with good quality prepared pet food, (international brands like Pedigree are widely available) which are 100% safe for your pet. Even the pet food needs to be stored in secure air- tight containers so that it is not exposed to humidity/moisture.

Create Dedicated ‘Special Digital Zones’ like #SEZs in #Budget2019💼 @IamDilipModi urges @nsitharaman

There is great anticipation around the presentation of Union Budget 2019. After a consecutive majority mandate received by the BJP and this being new Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s maiden budget, market stakeholders are following the proceedings with keen anticipation. Also, the strength of its electoral mandate enables the government to initiate long-term transformational projects. Technology will play a great part in this transformation and already we can see various projects under the National e-governance plan taking shape across states. Maharashtra has set an example of optimized digital adoption and we can see the central government and many other states adopting AI, machine learning and data analytics to bolster public service framework.

Dedicated ‘Special Digital Zones’ like SEZs, operational subsidies, reducing import duties on essential hardware and components, guidelines to safeguard Intellectual Property and development of institutions to aid in upskilling are areas that will continue to receive focused attention. Incentives can be expected to promote greater adoption of digital solutions in the SME and MSME sector. As india emerges as a service-sector driven economy for the long run, digital infrastructural investment, both for enterprises and for the nation, will become essential. The Union Budget 2019 will feature decisions that go a long way in optimizing the transparency and judicious utilization of resources. There is a great opportunity for us to use Aadhar as an authentication platform to drive financial inclusion across semi urban and rural India.  ‏
