19th INCOFYRA International Conference on Frontiers in Yoga Research & its’ Applications was organized from 20th to 23rd Dec. in the campus of S-VYASA Yoga University, Bangalore. The conference’s objectives are – @ to disseminate the research achievements in the field of Yoga and its applications; @ to activate the Indian Yoga Association (IYA); @ to bring out the limitations and strengths of gold standard RCT methodology @ to synergize the contributions of different traditional schools of Yoga through IYA
Inauguration: The conference was inaugurated on 20th Dec. at 05.00pm by Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, President, RK Math, Chennai and HH Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji, Founder, Art of Living. Padma Bhushan Dr.R.A.Mashelkar, President, Global Research Alliance; Sri Yeddyurappa, Former CM, Govt. of Karnataka and Dr.V.S.Acharya, Minister for Higher Education were the Invited Dignitaries. Dr.H.R.Nagendra, Vice Chancellor, S-VYASA presided over the ceremony.
Speakers; Guest and Delegates: The conference was addressed by 10 International and 34 National Speakers. 45 National and 30 International Guest and around a thousand national and international delegates from 20 states and 11 countries participated in the conference.
Valedictory Function: 19th INCOFYRA was concluded with the speeches of delegates from different parts of the world, speaking about their experiences. They mentioned how this conference with the theme Global Health, Peace and Education helped in getting the eminent thinkers, philosophers and spiritual teachers on one platform. Dr.Naveen an established researcher of S-VYASA put across the pre and post details of the conference. This was follow-by the book release on - Swami Vivekananda a Man of letter by Prof.K.Subramania. And another book released was Yoga Sagara Saram by Prof.T.M.Srinivasan. Swami Paramatmananda Saraswati spoke a few words about how Yoga is away from barriers of caste, creed, race and religion. Then the conference was addressed by the Guest of Honour Dr.Anita Goel.
At the end a Human Chain was made, which was symbolic of world peace, unity in diversity followed by Shanti Mantra and National Anthem.

Education, Health and Peace were delivered BY Dr.H.R.Nagendra (Education), Dr.R.Nagarathna & Dr.Shirley Telles (Health) and Dr.N.V.C.Swamy (Peace) on 21st, 22nd and 23rd respectively as under: Dr.H.R.Nagendra, Vice Chancellor spoke on the tile – ADOPTION OF THEORETICAL PRINCIPLES & TECNIQUES OF YOGA TO EVOLVE A HOLISTIC PERSPECTIVE IN MODERN PRIMARY AND HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM.
Dr.R.Nagarathna, Dean, Div. of Yoga & Life Sciences, SVYASA, Bangalore spoke on YOGA FOR GLOBAL HEALTH, EDUCATION AND PEACE. Dr.Shirley Telles, Head, ICMR Center for Advanced Research in Yoga & Neuro- physiology, SVYASA spoke on YOGA THERAPY EMPHASIZING THE PHILOSOPHY OF YOGA AS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THE THERAPY.
