Panasonic India spreads Eco Ideas with Eco Exhibition

Panasonic, a global leader in ideas for lifestyles that bring greater sustainability, today unveiled its first ever standalone power system, the Life Innovation Container in India which provides off-grid areas with electricity. Also, Panasonic kicked off its Eco Exhibition to showcase its wide range of eco products and ideas in four major cities - Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. The initiative aims at spreading awareness about its commitment to becoming the No. 1 Green Innovation Company in the Electronics Industry by 2018 - the year of its 100th anniversary. The occasion was graced by Mr. Daizo Ito, President, Panasonic India along with Panasonic’s Eco Brand Ambassador Ms. Dia Mirza, and Mr. Manish Sharma, Director Sales & Marketing, Panasonic India.




The Life Innovation Container unveiled today is a demonstration of Panasonic’s innovative and comprehensive energy solutions to create, store and manage energy, packaged within a twenty foot container. Being easily transportable by sea, rail and land, the container is expected to provide electricity to power off-grid areas and support disaster-ridden areas as temporary infrastructure. Equipped with eighteen solar panels (including six panels on the roof), the container generates about 6.7 KWH of power a day, while 48 EV storage batteries and an inverter inside the container enables it to supply electricity for three to four days even in cloudy weather conditions. Panasonic shall donate the Life Innovation Container to an NGO in India.



Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Daizo Ito - President, Panasonic India said, “The Life Innovation Container is a demonstration of Panasonic’s innovative and comprehensive energy solutions in creating, storing and saving energy. These innovations reiterate our commitment towards becoming the No.1 Green Innovation Company in the electronics industry by 2018. We have also exhibited our range of eco products and solutions through an eco exhibition to showcase our various eco initiatives for people in India.”



In addition to this, Panasonic also kicked off its “Experience Panasonic” Eco Exhibition today in Ambience Mall, Gurgaon. This exhibition presents Panasonic’s advanced energy technologies to create, store and manage energy through showcasing its range of eco-friendly products and corporate eco commitments. Visitors are encouraged to consider various eco initiatives with hands-on events, quizzes and contests as well as participation in an online campaign to express their eco commitment to friends and family.



As part of company’s eco initiatives, Panasonic shall also sponsor Green Globe Awards 2011 which aim to encourage, acknowledge and award the Champions of the Earth for environmental leadership globally contributing towards protecting our environment.

Panasonic also recently concluded Eco Picture Diary Contest, where students from Indian schools participated by compiling creative pictures, illustrations and photographs in order to create awareness about the environment. The winner of this contest, Sakshi Satija from Father Agnel School- Noida was felicitated by Ms. Dia Mirza at the Eco Exhibition.
