IMTMA Announcement Press Conference of IMTEX FORMING 2012

Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) is back with its 2nd edition of IMTEX FORMING 2012 and Tooltech 2012- a highly acclaimed platform for showcasing Forming Manufacturing Technologies. Scheduled from 19th - 24th January 2012, this 6-day expo will be held at IMTMA’s own state-of-the-art exhibition facility – Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Tumkur Road.

IMTEX Forming 2012 is the biggest b2b exhibition from the stable of the brand IMTEX in South & South East Asia. The exhibition will showcase contemporary innovations ranging from the most efficient and advanced machineries.

Key highlights of the exhibition:

  • Exhibitors from across 24 countries including India will be participating in the exhibition this year. Other key countries participating are Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, UK and USA.

  • The exhibition will also have group participation from China, Taiwan and Germany.

Sharing his views on the Machine Tool industry, Mr. Vikram Sirur, President – IMTMA, said, “Over a period of time India has emerged as a global hub for manufacturing technologies. In 2012-2013, with the commencement of the 12th Five year Plan, Indian manufacturing is expected to witness a phenomenal transformation generating millions of job opportunities leading to the increment of share percentages in the sector which is estimated to increase from current 16% to 25% by the year 2025.”

Briefing the media about the exhibition, Mr Shailesh Sheth, Media Chairman, IMTMA said, “Over the years IMTEX has been a driving force for the exponential growth of Indian Machine Tool Industry. The key emphasis of IMTEX Forming 2012 is to showcase latest technologies and equipment catering to forming industry. IMTEX Forming 2012 is going to be the largest specialised-trade fair that will attract buyers and manufacturing professionals and will enhance technology efficiency across sectors of Aerospace, Healthcare, Energy and Railways.”

Spread across 40,000 square metres, the exhibition will feature over 500 exhibitors and 600 machines with a total value of Rs.1,000 million. First edition of IMTEX Forming saw 44,000 business visitors, and this year, the number is expected to increase to 60,000.

The 6-day exhibition is preceded by a day -long International Seminar on 18th January 2012 on ‘Forming technologies’. These B2B sessions will be conducted by renowned experts from National and International companies and research institutes. The sessions will provide an opportunity for users and providers of technology, machinery and processes to meet on a common platform and discuss applications, commercial issues, joint ventures, technology transfers, etc.
