The Indian Naval Band conducted an exhilarating performance today evening before Hon’ Governor of Kerala Shri Nikhil Kumar and an august audience at the Le Meridien Hotel at Kochi today. The symphonic band comprising of 60 members was led by Command Musician Officer of Southern Naval Command Lieutenant Manoj Sebastian. The repertoire of the band ranged from Western Classical, Pop, Rock, popular Indian music and even a bhajan. The packed audience which numbered in excess of a thousand expressed their appreciation with thunderous applause after each piece. In an impromptu address to the assembled gathering after the event, Hon Governor Shri Nikhil Kumar said that the Navy Band is one of the finest in the country and hoped that the concert would be an annual affair. Vice Admiral Satish Soni, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief Southern Naval Command presided over the event. Smt Rini Simon Khanna and Commander Arun Gopalaswamy compered the Concert.
