Nandalala Seva Samithi Prem Geeth initiative, brought out thousands of Bangloreans to support the cultural, spiritual and economic needs of the society. The fundraising evening marks Nandalala Seva Samithi’s 25th anniversary in real style with an evening filled with authentic bollywood delights. Energizing the crowd was heart throbbing classic from the 50’s and 70’s of bollywood by Klub Nostalgia.
Early in the evening at around 6:30 pm people started gathering at Chowdiah Memorial hall, Vyalikaval Bangalore. The event started with enthusiastic singers like Anil Bajpai, Vinod Seshadri, Shailaja Subramaniam, Sangeetha who churned out popular songs of Talat, Lata, Mukesh, Mhd. Rafi ,Mannadey, Asha, Geetha Dutta (1950 70) till the tardy hours of the evening.
The event was very well received by the people and the primary focus was to raise fund for the noble cause for the three activities, which are:
• Project Balakrishna: Started nearly 10 years ago, the project provides nutritious milk twice a week to nearly 2500 children in government schools in Bengaluru
• Student scholarships: Necessary monetary support is given to the deserving, economically backward students.
• Kshana – Kshana: A cultural centre and playschool for children. The Trust aims at expanding into primary education for children in Bangalore.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jayram, one of the founder member said”, we believe that music is the elixir of life. We want to support noble causes run by genuine charitable trusts. This is a small step for a noble cause to make a big difference. It is a sheer pride being part of the trust for 25 Years and giving back something to society in return. We have been very successful in contributing towards the betterment of the society by extending our support for the economically backward community by adopting various social initiatives”
Nandalala Seva Samithi made a humble beginning in Chennai in the year 1988 and was made into a trust in November 1990. They have chapters in Bangalore, Trivandrum, Trichy, Hyderabad and New Delhi. They have presence in California and Dubai as well.
