The event was attended by industry leaders and heads of companies from various Indian life sciences companies.
Dr. K VijayRaghavan, secretary, DBT, Govt. of India, presented Dr. M K Bhan, former secretary, department of biotechnology, ministry of science, and technology, Government of India, with the BioSpectrum Lifetime Achievement Award 2013. Biocon's ALZUMAb was awarded the BioSpectrum BioPharma Product of the Year 2013 Award. The BioSpectrum Person of the Year 2013 Award was given to Dr. Krishna Ella, Chairman and Managing Director, Bharat Biotech, who with his clear focus has been charting an ambitious vaccines story for India.
Mr. Pramod Chaudhari, Executive Chairman, Praj, was chosen for the BioSpectrum Leadership Award 2013. He has come a long way since the past three decades and has displayed how formidable leadership can help build a successful organization with innovative ideas in even a niche sector like bio-fuels.

Furthermore, xCyton Diagnostics Syndrome Evaluation System (SES) was given the BioSpectrum Diagnostics Product of the Year 2013.
