Sumitra Mahajan is the speaker of Indian Parliament's Lower House

BJP leader Sumitra Mahajan is elected as the 16th Lok Sabha Speaker.72-year-old Mahajan is an eight-term Lok Sabha member from Indore and has worked for long in the panel of Chairperson of the House. Prime Minister Modi and other BJP leaders including Rajnath Singh and Sushma Swaraj proposed Mahajan’s name.Her was the only name that was proposed till the time for filing nomination for the post came to a close at noon yesterday.
