Oakridge, India’s largest and Asia Pacific’s second largest international school, to announce the launch of its new school in Bangalore


Oakridge International School, India’s largest international school and Asia’s second largest today announced the expansion of its national footprint with the launch of its Bangalore campus at Sarjapur.

With an initial investment of Rs 100 cr, the 10 acre international campus at Sarjapur will have a student intake of about 2500. The teacher-student ratio will be as low as 1:10 and as of now the classes are from Nursery to VII STD.

The Oakridge International School at Bangalore will boast of facilities and infrastructure such as multi-purpose hall, volleyball, basketball, squash courts, swimming pools, skating rink, fashion technology lab, hi-tech air-conditioned buses, among others.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Shomie Das, Chairman, People Combine Educational Initiatives, said, “Oakridge firmly believes that every child is unique and our motto is learning the treasure within and our pool of teachers are facilitators for the process. All our schools are child centric and our teachers ensure that the learning is engaging, relevant, challenging and significant in order to meet the diverse needs of the student—physical, social, intellectual, aesthetic, cultural.”

Further to this he added, “Oakridge is dedicated to nurturing responsive and motivated students through a dynamic, success-oriented education program empowering students with a global and local perspective, to demonstrate our commitment to this space Rs.200 cr is set aside as further investment during the academic year 2012-13. Oakridge is desirous to pursue an approach to learning that becomes a lifelong habit. As a definitive step towards this pursuit, we plan to set up 50 world schools across the country by 2015.”

Oakridge International School is an IB school and offers IGCSE at secondary level. They also offer national curriculum (CBSE) as an option for secondary level.
