Having understood the current gap that exists for a real lifestyle experience, when Derby goers are looking for an upgrade and when golfing community is looking for avenues to socialize and network, HiveSports United took up this initiative of organizing the ‘Bangalore Polo Season’ to create a niche exclusive lifestyle event. The event is expected to be lit with celebrities, page 3 personalities, luxury brands, HNIs who come together to enjoy a day of Royalty, sport and leisure amongst like-minded people. To add more glamour to the event, the grand finale match on the 29th April will encompass a convoy of first super luxury cars like Ferrari, Lamborghini etc. doing its rounds in the Bangalore city followed by a fashion show and an art exhibition by renowned artist Pragya Jain from Art Mall, New Delhi.
During the inauguration, Mr. Aditya Arora, Founder & Managing Director, HiveSports United, said, “HiveSports United intends to create landmark lifestyle sporting events to expand the sporting entertainment scene in Bangalore. Bangalore Polo Season is a first step towards creating a niche and exclusive platform for the HNIs in India to socialize and network. We will work on continuously scaling up the event and its stature from the next season onwards over the next few years. We are hoping to create a true lifestyle sporting experience for Bangalore audience through this season.”
This season will have three Polo Tournaments, on the 15th of April- the Grand Opening, 18th of April, 22nd of April and on 29th of April 2012, the Grand Finale match of each tournament which will be open to public to come enjoy the match over a Sunday afternoon. The winning team will be awarded with three cups – Base Polo Cup, Trinity Cup and the Champions Cup respectively. The teams include 8 National level teams (ASC, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, 61 Cavalry, NDA, ARTILLERY and RVC).
Foreseeing the potential in this game, ARPA intends to organize the Bangalore Polo Season for the next 5 years to exclusively promote Polo Tournaments in Bangalore through HiveSports United.
HiveSports United will be investing substantial amounts to showcase the sport and will look to bring on luxury brands to showcase themselves in front of niche and exclusive customers.
Polo as a game has come a long way from being the oldest sport in the world. Considered as a noble sport by emperors across the world, it came to be called as ‘the game of the Kings’. The connection between the rider and the horse, the speed and the exhilaration and most of all, the style and the sophistication makes Polo a way of life. Polo in India is played predominantly among army professionals along with a very selective and handful of non-army players. Thus, HiveSports United in association with ARPA has taken the opportunity to take the game of Polo to a next level in India, starting from Bangalore.
