Freescale Semiconductor (NYSE: FSL), a global leader in embedded processing solutions, opened the eighth edition of the company’s annual Freescale Technology Forum (FTF) India today at the Hotel Sheraton, Bengaluru. The unique event provides an avenue for Freescale’s customers, partners and employees to meet and explore the latest innovations in embedded design from around the world.
The theme for the global FTF 2012 program is “Powering Innovation.” Freescale is emphasizing its leading technologies and products that help embedded developers differentiate their designs, as well as the comprehensive, market-focused spectrum of enablement solutions and ecosystem partnerships needed to help developers innovate and accelerate their time to market.
Approximately 1,000 designers, applications engineers, industry experts, executives and hardware, software and tools partners from around the world are on hand for two intensive days of learning and networking. This year’s forum opened with a keynote address by Freescale’s Senior Vice President and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Henri Richard.
“Our world will depend increasingly on information and communication technology with tens of billions of new intelligent systems connecting to the web as a result of the ‘Internet of Things’ dynamic,” said Richard. “Using Freescale’s unique product portfolio and expansive partner ecosystem, we are a catalyst, enabling our customers to architect, build and go to market with solutions providing machine-to-machine connectivity creating a world of Connected Intelligence. We’re pleased to return to India to host the Freescale Technology Forum in 2012. India is an important market for us and it is experiencing dynamic growth with very diverse yet distinct technology needs offering tremendous opportunity for Freescale and our industry partners.”
Dr. Ajay Kumar, Joint Secretary for India’s Department of Electronics and IT, also addressed the FTF attendees. “The recent incentive program announced by the Indian government of 100 billion (Rs 10,000 crores) to promote large-scale manufacturing in the electronic system design and manufacturing (ESDM) sector has been welcomed by the industry,” said Dr. Kumar. “Technology events like the Freescale Technology Forum bring forth the advances that the embedded design industry is making in India. The industry has huge potential and definitely adds to the overall growth prospect. We look forward to more technology industry events in India.”
