A greater spectrum of colors

PIXMA PRO 1

Canon’s flagship product PIXMA PRO 1 is equipped with exciting features to offer a greater spectrum of colors. It is for customers who seek both rich photos with subdued colors and smooth tonal gradation and highly productive printing like wild life photographers.

The Pro 1 uses 12 different colored ink tanks, which not only expands its color gamut but also stabilizes its print colors to provide consistent and uniform prints. These 12 ink tanks also include 5 monochrome inks for superior black and white prints with smoother gradations and suppressed graininess. Canon has also outfitted PIXMA PRO-1 with large-volume 36 ml ink tanks. The FINE technology used in PRO 1 ensures rapid printing speeds and can print an A3 bordered full colour photograph in 4.20 mins. All this helps in superior quality prints and increasing productivity.

PRO series offers ease of use and include a new two-way paper feeder at the rear, including a dedicated feed slot for users to manually feed up to 14 x 17” paper and thick paper. An Ethernet port allows multiple users at different computers to use PIXMA PRO-1 over a wired network.

PIXMA PRO-10

The PRO-10 uses a 10-color ink system to achieve smooth tonal gradations and colors to meet the exacting standards of professional photographers. It is for customers who are devoted to rich photos with subdued colors like fashion photographers. The combination of the Chroma Optimizer and three different monochromatic inks – Photo Black, Matte Black and Gray - not only improves tonal gradations in monochrome prints, but also increases the accuracy of color reproduction for darker colors. With this system, blacks are denser, bronzing is reduced, and glossiness is enhanced.

PIXMA PRO 100
PIXMA pro 100 is designed for photographers who prefer vibrant and glossy photos. The PRO-100 uses an 8-color dye ink system for richer colors and high gloss, including three monochromatic inks – Black, Gray, and Light Gray – for superior reproduction in the darker color range. This allows the PRO-100 to produce more accurate dark colors, as well as smoother tonal gradation and reduced highlight grain in black and white prints.

Optimum Image Generating (OIG) & Chroma Optimizer
The PIXMA Pro Series Optimum Image Generating (OIG) system meticulously analyzes the intended color and determines the most ideal ink mix based on factors like print modes, different printing media, and other qualities of the image. PIXMA PRO-1 and PRO-10 also feature Chroma Optimizer. The Chroma Optimizer is added as a layer over the inks to create a more uniform level of glossiness and regulate surface reflections. In addition, Chroma Optimizer can also enhance the density in darker colors, for deeper blacks with more gradations.

Versatile Media Support
Canon has also launched the LU-101 Photo Paper Pro Luster, a new semi-gloss paper that holds color consistently under display lighting – making it ideal for studio exhibitions and special events. This will help photographers take advantage of the superior printing capabilities of the Pro Series.  Its quick drying time also increases productivity for photographers who need prints in a hurry.

The PRO series will also support various art papers from third party companies such as Hahnemuhle, Canson and llford Paper to name a few. The added versatility ensures that photographers will be able to continue using their preferred brands with Canon printers.

Print Studio Pro/Easy Photo Print Pro
Canon’s new Print Studio Pro/Easy Photo Print Pro software further optimizes the printing workflow. It is
Plug-in software that allows photographers to seamlessly print from editing software like Digital Photo
Professional, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. A redesigned user-interface makes it extremely easy to perform size and layout adjustments before the image data is sent to the printer. Text like serial numbers or the photographer’s name can also be easily added with this software
