PowerShot N – Freestyle Photography
Gone are the days when photographers would exclusively use their cameras for portrait shots and landscape photos. These days, users hold their cameras in a variety of different ways to get unusual and exciting angles and perspectives.
With that in mind, Canon has designed the PowerShot N to be smaller, more agile, with new dual shutter buttons at the top and bottom of the zoom-enabled lens ring for even one-handed operations. With this new and unique design concept and a 2.8-inch tilt-up LCD touch panel, the PowerShot N will be able to capture eye-catching unique photos from extreme angles.
The PowerShot N encourages creative photography with the new Creative Shot mode that applies six random creative filters to a shot with just a click. This is on top of all-time favorite effects like fish-eye, miniature and toy camera effect commonly found in Canon cameras.
These uniquely-framed photos will also be captured with the utmost clarity, thanks to the power of the DIGIC 5 processor, a highly sensitive 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor, and a new 8x optical zoom lens (28-224mm) for photos up to 16x zoom thanks to the new ZoomPlus technology. High-speed and low-light photos remain sharp due to a high ISO speed of 6400.
A new feature of the PowerShot N is the Hybrid Auto mode that automatically records a four-second full HD video prior to the photo being snapped. To counter against blurry images, Hybrid Auto mode incorporates Canon’s Smart Auto which recognizes various scenes for optimized exposure. Intelligent Stabilizer technologies are also automatically activated to identify and adapt to the appropriate stabilizing technique for stable video footage and crisp stills.
For maximized sharing of the creative shots, PowerShot N also features a one-touch WiFi button which enables users to instantly share their photographs on social media sites such as Facebook and YouTube or with other wireless devices using the smart device's data connection with the free Canon CameraWindow app (available for both iOS and Android).
For added convenience, the PowerShot N can be powered-up via a bundled USB cable.
PowerShot A2600 – Affordable, Stylish and Versatile
Getting a photograph to look exactly the way you want it to look requires more than just pointing the camera in the right direction – you need to be able to tweak adjustments and settings to get the exposure and colors right.
To make this level of control easy to understand and use, Canon has released the new PowerShot A2600 – an affordable compact camera that comes with a convenient help button that offers quick tips on how and when to use certain features. The help button is a perfect tool for beginners, as a quick menu appears on the LCD screen with easy-to-understand advice and tips.
Another feature designed for beginners is LIVE view controls. Using this intuitive control system, users can adjust the brightness, color and tone using sliders on the screen, and it will show you what the resultant picture will look like. Once a desired look is achieved, simply snap away.
The optics of the PowerShot A2600 is powered by a 16-megapixel sensor and a DIGIC 4 imaging processor, with Digital IS (DIS) to stabilize shots. The lens is capable of 5x optical zoom (28-140mm), with ZoomPlus technology expanding the zoom up to 10x with minimal noise and loss of detail.
The PowerShot A2600 comes in three attractive colors – black, silver and pink – with a metallic finish on the front panel.
IXUS 140 – World’s slimmest* 8x long zoom IXUS
The perfect shot is often hampered by walls or large distances, which is why a good zoom lens is necessary to overcome these obstacles. Canon’s IXUS 140 has an 8x optical zoom lens (28-224mm), and is able to extend up to 16x zoom with the new ZoomPlus feature which is more superior than digital zoom, ZoomPlus achieves a greater zoom range while still maintaining a low-noise distortion.
The liberating power of the IXUS 140 zoom lens is matched by the convenience of a slim and compact design (as of 30 November 2012 in a Canon survey among digital compact cameras with a 8x zoom lens). This makes it extremely easy to carry around as it will easily fit into pockets and purses, which makes it a suitable companion for holidays and parties.
Superior image quality is provided by a 16-megapixel sensor and the DIGIC 4 image processor, with a fast ISO speed of up to 1600. Users are able to frame their shots comfortably on the 3” LCD screen, whether they’re shooting photos or HD movies.
Fashion-conscious users will be delighted with the IXUS 140’s color options in silver, pink or red.
Sharing shots sooner
To meet the increasing demands of internet-savvy users, the PowerShot N and IXUS 140 cameras are equipped with WiFi capabilities which expand the ways that users can enjoy their photos. Now users can instantly upload photos and videos to social networking services, exchange photos with other Canon WiFi-enabled cameras, or even send the images to a home computer while on vacation.
With WiFi, these cameras are able to connect to smartphones and other smart devices easily, and setting up a connection can be as simple as just pressing the mobile device connect button on the PowerShot N. Transferring photos to computers has also been made easier with the inclusion of the Canon Image Gateway (CiG)* cloud service and Canon CameraWindow app available for both iOS and Android smart device users.
*CIG is available in selected countries only.
More photos, more fun
An incredibly helpful feature included in these three new cameras is the new Eco Mode. The brightness of the LCD is automatically dimmed when the camera is not in active use. Reduction in power consumption effectively increases the battery life of the camera; allowing the cameras to shoot up to 30% more photos, and more energy for WiFi connectivity.
