NIFTEM participates in Odisha MSME International Trade Fair
National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management [NIFTEM], Deemed to be University (De-novo Category), an autonomous institute under Ministry of Food processing Industries (MoFPI), Govt. of India,  is participating in the five days Odisha MSME International Trade Fair with an aim to strengthen  the roots of entrepreneurships.

This autonomous institute was set up by Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI)  with an investment of  Rs.500 crore in a sprawling campus of 100 acres located near Delhi NCR at Kundli, Soneput, Haryana. The institute was conceived as an international centre of excellence and apex world class centre of  global standards in food technology entrepreneurship and management.

It aims to cater the needs of various stakeholders such as entrepreneurs, industries, exporters, policy makers, government and existing institutions. The major objective of this institute is to develop world class managerial talent coupled with advanced knowledge in food science and technology and to promote cooperation and networking among existing institutions within India and as well as with international bodies. On persistent demands of the food industry to have an ‘Apex Body’ as a “One Stop Solution Provider” for them, NIFTEM was conceptualized.

Keeping in view the changing perspective of technical and managerial changes in the food emergence of NIFTEM as a specialized skill upgrading institute fills this need, focusing on innovation, knowledge and outreach. With co-operation networking with international and national sector specific organisations, the institute shall promote the research outcomes from laboratories to market place for benefit of society.

NIFTEM is offering academic courses like B.Tech and M.Tech in the area of food science and technology. It also plans to initiate significant outreach support to communities in the areas  of product development, food safety, food standards and food  regulation & food policy.

On this context Mr. Rakesh Kackar chancellor, NIFTEM said, “ The initiative of Govt. of India , Ministry of Food Processing Industries to have an apex institution of global excellence to cater to the needs of booming food processing sector has started becoming a reality. NIFTEM will be the instrumental in reaching those who need it the most.”
