It’s time to say hello to some of Ronald’s dearest friends!

It’s time to say hello to some of Ronald’s dearest friends!
This February, McDonald’s Chief Happiness Officer, the popular and lovable Ronald McDonald will introduce customers to his dearest friends bringing fun, friendship and happiness to young patrons. Customers will get a chance to take home one of Ronald’s best buddies from the cute Ronald & Friends toys series with every McDonald’s Happy Meal.

Just as Ronald is always associated with magic, fun and happiness, his friends- Birdie, Grimace and Hambuglar will bring joy to our young customers. McDonald’s is a great place to enjoy the camaraderie with old friends over a happy meal which consists of a veg/non-veg burger and a choice of drink – the entertaining toy or accessory that comes with the meal is sure to add to the fun factor.

Each of the characters is unique in their own special way and posses heart-warming characteristics. Hambuglar is a pint-sized burglar dressed in a black-and-white hooped shirt and pants, a red cape, a wide-brimmed hat, and red gloves. His primary object of theft was hamburgers, hence his name.  Grimace is a large, purple character depicted with two pairs of arms with which to steal milkshakes. Grimace is one of the cutest characters whose clumsy antics always provided a comic foil to Ronald McDonald. Birdie is a charming yellow bird dressed in a pink jumpsuit and is the first identifiably female character of McDonald-land.

Young customers can choose from a range of Ronald & Friends toys including the Grimace Stamper, Birdie Pen, Grimace Compact, Ronald/Birdie Notebook, McDonald and Hacky Sack, Bumblebee McDonald and Table Hockey, Hamburglar Racer and Ronald Super Spinner with the McDonald’s Happy Meal.

Commenting on the promotion, Mr. Rameet Arora, Senior Director Marketing, McDonald’s India, (West & South) said, “We always strive to give our young patrons a complete experience with our Happy Meals and this month McDonald’s gives its young guests a chance to collect their favourite Ronald & Friends toys. Celebrating 16 years of leadership in food service retail in India, McDonald’s today has a network of over 300 restaurants across the country, with its first restaurant launch way back in 1996. HRPL today serves approximately 165 million customers, annually, across 155 restaurants in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, and provides employment for more than 7,000 employees.

Prior to its launch, the company invested six years to develop its unique cold chain, which has brought about a veritable revolution in food handling, immensely benefiting the farmers at one end and enabling customers to get the highest quality food products, absolutely fresh and at a great value.

In line with its respect for local culture, India is the first country in the world where McDonald’s does not offer any beef or pork items. McDonald's has also re-engineered its operations to address the special requirements of vegetarians. Vegetable products are kept separate throughout the various stages of procurement, cooking and serving.  The mayonnaise and the soft serves are also 100% vegetarian
