As part of the celebrations, Shri H.S. Upendra Kamath, Chairman & Managing Director, Vijaya Bank delivered the welcome address. He applauded women for being a pioneer, a juggler of tasks and for having earned the respect in every sphere of life .
To mark the occasion many innovative schemes were announced for the women staff and customers. The bank announced to start 3 all women branches in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore. For women entrepreneurs, the bank will offer 25 Basis Point interest concession in the MSME advance. Additionally, 25% of CGTMSE fees in respect of women entrepreneurs will be borne by the Bank.
The bank announced to adopt 1 girl child for financially supporting her education till graduation in all the semi-urban and rural branched to be opened by the bank in FY 2013-14. Additionally, also an all “All Women Urban Micro Finance branch” will be opened in Bangalore and “All Women Micro Finance branches” at Mandya, Dharwad and Haveri.
