The afternoon of September 17, 2013 at Le Mill called for a concept experience of the ‘Blenders Pride - House of Style’. Designers adorned the spaces with distinct fashion statements and style as the fabulous sneak peek to the 9th edition of Seagram’s Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2013 came alive. The brand pioneered, once again, a preview in a unique setting befitting the announcement.
Speaking on the preview, Raja Banerji, General Manager - Marketing, Pernod Ricard India said, “Style is permanent. The Blenders Pride Fashion Tour preview showed us that a great look never loses its impact. We hope to improve on our past editions and achieve better. It’s a continuous challenge, but we thrive on it. Trend spotting with the finest talent and a national audience in six cities makes the Blenders Pride experience differentiated and special.”
Blenders Pride hosted this special media preview in Mumbai with 10 designers who each revealed a creation from their collection.
Gaviin Miguel ‘Warriors of heaven on earth’ was portrayed through his muse Dipannita Sharma. An opulent evening gown graced her slender frame as an ethereal paradise was brought to life on earth and transported audiences to a world of beauty that can only be described as angelic.
JJ Valaya presents ‘Maharaja of Madrid’ that projects a medley of Spanish and Indian influences. The collection delves into seemingly contradictory juxtapositions to come out with a unique collection of ready-to-wear statements of the season. His muse, Kajal Agarwal showcased an ensemble from the collection.
Neeta Lulla drew inspiration from the fashionistas of the 20’s and 30’s to create a thought that truly reflects the wispiness associated with mood as much as garb. The sheer, peek-a-boo quality of Sophie Choudhary’s outfit retains the boldness accredited to that era; the silhouettes accentuated a certain sensuous femininity that was not only glamorous but rather poised too.
Pankaj & Nidhi scripted their collection as ‘roses are blue’. The notions have been given an unexpected twist with their interpretation of this eternally flower in a surreal palette of blues. Roses appear in pixilated avatars, in full bloom, oversized and in a graphic glory that is a signature Pankaj & Nidhi style. Neha Dhupia represented the designer’s collection
Rocky S delineated the dramatic splendor of mystery. Keeping the signature ‘Black’, Super models Binal Trivedi, Pia Trivedi, Mashoom Singha, Shamita Singha & Aanchal Kumar’s ensembles recreated the aura of the dark medieval age of Fashion, which was all about lavishness, seduction, and the gorgeous contours of femininity.
Suneet Varma derived inspiration from poetry written by his mother. Supermodel Sanea Sheikh featured as the designers muse wearing an outfit which has been based upon words that repertoire, soothe and enrich the soul.
For Tarun Tahiliani, glimmers of sunrise saffron met exuberant outbursts of fiery hues and midnight shades. Mehr Rampal was the enigma that is the sadhu’s style - a sea of unending fabric, mysteriously wrapping itself upon itself, to create an aura, a cocoon, a sensuous drape. It was simply an effortlessness that lets the fabric be, a Kumbh mystery, unlocked.
Vikram Phadnis threw in a passionate combination of colours and creativity for a ‘Chic You’. The uber elegant Malaika Arora Khan featured as his eternal muse, a celebration of vivacious and buoyant spirits on a structured silhouette.
Wendell Rodricks took the music tribute to Cole Porter – Red, Haute and Blue and transformed hot tunes with a hot garment in a delightful palette on Evelyn Sharma, creating a youthful resort look, perfect for the beach and the red carpet.
Falguni & Shane Peacock who have dressed the hottest Bollywood and Hollywood stars present a look from their collection with their muse Sameera Reddy. The duo is known for their very Avant Garde and futuristic fashion sensibilities.
Stimulated by life’s moods and motivated by its rhythm and beat, the face of BPFT is none other than fashion icon Priyanka Chopra. Photographed by ace lens man Bharat Sikka, she is the ideal synergy between life and fashion and thus the perfect event ambassador.
Fashion’s on a trip, as BPFT 2013 embellishes 6 cities and breaches the borders of the fashion spectrum, transcends theme, and gets edgy, in a seemingly impossible move toward fashion egalitarianism. Prepare to be inspired.
