Karnataka High Court Judge inaugurates Hosahalli Village Community Hall sponsored by SABIC
Honourable Justice Ram Mohan Reddy, Judge Karnataka High Court,  today inaugurated a Community Resource Center in B. Hosahalli Village that was sponsored by SABIC and built with support from Rotary Bangalore South, under the auspices of CSR Activities, to address the community’s need for a space that will facilitate enhanced social engagement. Also present at the event were Guest of Honour Dr. Vaman Acharya, Chairman of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), Dr. Surendra Kulkarni, Research Director and Site Head, SABIC Technology Center, Bengaluru, Past District Governor Mr. Manandi N. Suresh, President Rotary Bangalore South, Mr Balaji TR and CSR Chairperson and President Elect-Rotary Bangalore South, Mr. Sridhar BR.

“SABIC is committed to enabling a progressive environment in the communities it operates in. We will continue to partner with local communities to empower them to enhance their quality of living and social interaction,” said Dr. Kulkarni.

The B. Hosahalli Community Resource Center is a facility for the villagers to gather to discuss important affairs of the village as well as for cultural events, training and community welfare programs, such as on holding medical camps, nutrition workshops and safety awareness drives.

After inaugurating the hall, Honourable Justice Ram Mohan Reddy and the other dignitaries handed over some new furniture that SABIC together with Rotary Bangalore South, is presenting to six government schools to enhance the overall learning environment. The furniture was accepted at the event by Principals of the six schools.

Speaking on the occasion, Honourable Justice Ram Mohan Reddy stressed the importance of developing rural areas of the country in its path to inclusive growth. “Villages form the core of the nation, and their development is essential for India to move forward. I am very happy to witness the joint efforts by corporates, civil society and the people in the development of their community, and look forward to more such initiatives in the future.” he said.

Mr. Sridhar of Rotary Bangalore South said “It is a happy day for us to see the B. Hosahalli village Community Resource Center being formally inaugurated by Honourable Justice Ram Mohan Reddy. We are involved in several initiatives with SABIC to empower local communities to take charge of their development, and we believe the space for congregation that this hall provides will play an important role towards this.”
