The inauguration function would be held on the 7th of November at 10 am in the New Dining Hall. Maj. Gen. Cherish Mathson, SM, VSM - General Officer Commanding (Bison Division) has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest.
The Valedictory function would be held on the 9th November, 2013 at 4pm in the New Dining Hall in the presence of prominent Alumni. Prizes for The Eagles Fest Champion School, Cultural Championship, Literary Championship & Creative Championship trophies would be announced & distributed to the Winning schools.
About the Insitution
The Hyderabad Public School (erstwhile Jagirdars College) is one of the oldest and most prestigious public schools in India. It was established as Jagirdars College in 1923 & was considered a seat of excellence for educating the members of the then Indian aristocracy. The Jagirdars College was rechristened into The Hyderabad Public School in 1952 with its portals open to all stratas of society. The schools administrative body is a non-profit organisation called The Hyderabad Public School Society, the founding President of which was His Excellency the Late Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the 2nd President of India.
The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet is presently situated in the heart of the city of Hyderabad on a lush 150-acre campus with majestic buildings & sporting fields. The school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE & ISC). The school has a present strength of more than 2800 students and an Alumni body of over 10000 individuals. The Jagirdars College & The Hyderabad Public School Old Students Association is the official alumni body of this great institution. It has been one of the most active arms of the school and has successfully organized the Golden Jubilee Celebrations in 1973, the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in 1984 & the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations in 1998, a week long celebration commemorating the contribution of the institution in preparing students for a much larger role in nation building. It has also been organizing the Annual Reunion every year on the 25th & 26th of December which has been very successful. In the 90th year of this institution, the Alumni Body is organizing a grand one week long celebrations between the 22nd & 28th of December, 2013.
Participation
The Eagles Fest has participation from over 24 prominent schools of Hyderabad like Oakridge International School, Geetanjali Public School, Nasr School, Delhi Public School, and many others. There would be 45 different competitions spread over three days & a total participation of 944 contesting students.
