JK Paper Ltd expands product offering in the Office Paper segment

The largest producer of Branded Copier in India, JK Paper Ltd launches two new copier brands ‘JK C MAX’ and ‘JK MAX’ aimed at providing ‘value for money’. This comes soon after the largest investment that was commissioned at JK Paper Mills, Rayagada (Odisha) recently. The installation of a new machine is aimed to deliver global quality standards of multipurpose office papers.
With the recent expansion JK’s production capacity will be raised by an additional 1.65 lakh tonnes of Copier Papers and pulping capacity of 2.15 lakh tonnes. The Company’s total annual capacity stands now at 4.55 lakh tonnes. The new plant is highly automated and the paper produced is virtually untouched till the time it is loaded in trucks.
“With the new machine at in place at Rayagada, this will further strengthen JK’s position as a quality leader. The two new copier brands ‘JK C MAX’ and ‘JK MAX’ will enable JK to cater to more customers with its offering at various price points, says Mr. Santosh Wakhloo, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, JK Paper Ltd. While ‘JK C MAX’ is aimed to focus on the jobbers and SOHO’ in the A & B class cities, ‘JK MAX’ will help in reaching the upcountry markets.”

The state-of-the art technology combined with economies of scale will help conserve resources particularly energy and water significantly. JK’s key challenge and objective has been to make available cost-effective products without compromising on quality standards. This is more so in the south as customers are more demanding and their awareness levels are much higher. With the two new brands JK will be able to meet these objectives as well as challenge.
All JK copier papers are with ColorLok technology from Hewlett Packard and JK is the first company to make colorlok papers in India. ColorLok papers ensure vivid colors, bolder blacks and faster drying time with optimal results on all printers and copiers.The technology also helps in easier recycling of papers. This also allows JK to offer paper saving options to meet customers’ environmental concerns. The Indian Paper Industry accounts for about 1.8% of the world’s production of paper and paperboard and is the fastest growing market for paper globally. The consumption is increasing and is estimated to go to 17.5 million tons by 2016-17 from present 13 million tons including Newsprint. The estimated turnover of the industry is Rs 41,000 crore (USD 7 billion) approximately.
