Oxford University Press conducts ‘Oxford Quiz on Shakespeare 2013’
Oxford University Press (OUP), the world’s largest university press, conducted ‘Oxford Quiz on Shakespeare’ in Bangalore. This one-of-its-kind quiz was organised by OUP at Bishop Cotton Boys School, Residency Road, Bangalore.
The quiz saw great enthusiasm from students participating from various schools in Bangalore and adjoining areas. Schools which participated in the quiz are 70 schools from Bangalore.   The winning team Bishop Cottons Boys School received the “First Folio Trophy” which was specially crafted in silver and designed to look like the first published volume of Shakespeare’s works. Bishop Cotton Boys School, Bishop Cotton Girls School, Sudharshan Vidya Mandir, Baldwin Girls High School, St.Thomas Public School and Daffodils English School were the finalists for the quiz.
The second runner up from Daffodils English School and third runner up from Bishop Cotton Girls School and complimentary prizes were distributed amongst the audience.
This enthralling quiz was conducted by Adittya Mubayi, content editor for the popular television shows Kaun Banega Crorepati, Kamzor Kadi Kaun, and Mastermind India. The Quiz format is entirely based on the life & works of William Shakespeare.
Oxford University Press organized ‘Oxford Quiz on Shakespeare’ to celebrate and remember one of the greatest contributors to English literature.  Shakespeare has left a rich legacy of 38 plays, 154 sonnets and numerous other poems, not to mention the fact that he is said to have contributed 1,700 words to the English language.
