Bangalore, the Garden City of India witnessed the Tour of Nilgiris 2013, hailed as the mother of all Cycling Tours in India which started Dec 16 and terminate on Dec 23, 2013.Bhartiya City, an integrated township spanning 125-acres near Hebbal in Bangalore and envisioned as the largest development of its kind within metro limits in India, joined hands with the sixth edition of Tour of Nilgiris 2013. This was a perfect platform in synergy with Bhartiya City’s consistent pursuit of promoting outdoor sports like cycling and encouraging eco-friendly living. This is also reflected in the fact that proper cycling tracks are an integral part of Bhartiya township.

Commenting on the association, Mr. Arjun Aggarwal, CEO Bhartiya City said, “This is a great association for Bhartiya City given that TFN is one of the most prominent Cycling Tours of India. Bhartiya City is a passionate champion of cycling as we believe it promotes fitness and an eco-friendly lifestyle.  Unlike any other township across the country, Bhartiya City is coming up with a world-class cycling track within the City and I look forward to such events taking place in Bhartiya City in the near future.”

MONTRA TFN 2013 witnessed 103 riders covering a distance of around 800+ kms across Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu and with a special ‘King of the Mountains’ climb up Kalhatty (Ooty). Starting from Bangalore, cyclists enthusiasts will pedal through Mysore, Ooty, Sultan Bathery, Madikeri and will finish the tour by coming back to Mysore. The riders get the chance to pedal across different terrains and an opportunity to ride through three wildlife sanctuaries and the splendid mountains of Western Ghats. The entire route offer breathtaking scenery and expose riders to a great biodiversity rich in flora & fauna.

What truly makes TfN stand out are the charity riders who ride for chosen not-for-profit organizations and work on environment, children and education issues. Every year there have been riders who have taken up various causes and added their little bit for a better future.
