Employees Outlook towards the Employer

The year 2013 was the year of volatility for Business Corporations. While Companies have faced severe macro economic crisis, they also witnessed high profile exits, leaving gaps in succession planning thus raising questions on efficacy of their talent management policies. Amidst crunch economic crisis Companies have realized that it is meaningless to treat business and talent separately and thus most CEOs spend more than 50% of their time on Talent Management. Keeping this in view, Genius Consultants Ltd, a leading HR Staffing organisation conducted an online Pan India survey on “Employees Outlook towards the Employer” to understand the perception of the employees towards their employer. The survey questionnaires were sent to over 55000 employees and out of the above there were 1145 successful entries.

A panel discussion was organized with eminent speakers Mr. Nadeem Kazim-Director - HR & Personnel, Exide Industries Limited and Ms. Indrani Chatterjee-Associate Director, Human Capital, PWC (SDC) Kolkata Pvt. Ltd who discussed on the viewpoint of “Employers towards the Employees”.

The survey report was released by Mr. R P Yadav- Chairman & Managing Director of Genius Consultants Ltd, covering the areas:  Challenges in Job Search, Reason for Job Change, Factors enhancing work place satisfaction, Preferred HR Practices, Preferred Industry to Work, Preferred City to Work in.

Survey Key Findings:

§  30% employees are finding Work Culture as cardinal Consideration behind seeking a new Job.

§  Engineering & IT are the most preferred industries where an employee wants to work.

§  Bangalore tops the chart followed by Kolkata as preferred city to work in.

§  Employees find difficulties in searching a job where they are qualified for.

§  Training and Development Policy of an organsiation is the preferred HR practice by most of the employees.

§  Motivation and support by immediate superior enhances workplace satisfaction according to most of the employees.
