Visit of Japan Coast Guard Ship Mizuho to Kochi
Japanese Coast Guard ship Mizuho arrived Kochi Saturday morning for a five-day visit as a part of 13th in series of Indo – Japan joint Coast Guard exercises. During the period of stay the Coast Guard personnel from both countries will interact to exchange views and methods in the field of anti piracy and Search &Rescue (SAR) operations.
The Joint exercise, which will be conducted off Kochi on 14th, will be witnessed by Admiral Yuji Sato, Commandant, Japan Coast Guard in the presence of Vice Admiral Anurag Thapaliyal, AVSM, Director General Indian Coast Guard. Apart from joint exercise the two Coast Guards will also engage in other capacity building activities. The Japanese Coast Guard Ship called on the Commander Coast Guard Dist. The Japanese Coast Guard ship Mizuho, which is here for the exercise, is a 130m vessel with an integral helicopter. JCG Mizuho is commanded by Captain Moriya Fukui and has a complement of 63 elite crewmembers.
