Bomb explosion at Chennai railway station
A 24 year old woman passenger (named Swathi) was killed and 11 others were injured, two of them seriously, when two bombs went off on in quick succession in two coaches (S4 & S5) of the Guwahati-Bangalore Express at the Chennai Central railway station at around 7.30 am today morning. Union Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge has announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs One Lakh to the family of dead woman, Rs 25,000 for grievously injured and Rs 5,000 for those with minor injuries. A Central NIA team has been rushed to Chennai to assist state CBCID in the investigation.
