The Supreme Court on Friday issued notices to the government and the Mukesh Ambani-run Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (RJIL) on a public interest litigation filed by lawyer and activist Prashant Bhushan, challenging the government’s decision to allow RJIL to offer voice services on its 20MHz spectrum in 4G band.
The Comptroller and Auditor General had alleged that the government allowed ISP holders, primarily the Reliance Industries to "liberalise" their spectrum and provide voice services for a paltry amount.
