CeBIT India sign MoUs with IESA and MAIT for CeBIT India 2014

CeBIT India, world’s leading Business IT and ICT trade fair, organized by Hannover Milano Fairs India today announced its partnerships with India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), a premier trade body representing the Indian Electronic System Design and Manufacturing industry and MAIT, the apex body representing the computer hardware, training and software industries.

An MoU signed by IESA and MAIT with CeBIT today, will provide Electronics System Design and Manufacturing ecosystem players an opportunity to participate in the prestigious CeBIT show, that will take place in November 2014. This move comes at a time when the Government of India has identified electronics hardware manufacturing as a major thrust area expected to spiral to USD 400 billion by 2020.

A significant step towards building a strong Indian IT & Electronics landscape, the partnership between CeBIT India, IESA and, MAIT aims to achieve the following mutual objectives:

·         Develop the ESDM ecosystem in India and create opportunities for the local manufacturing industry

·         Demonstrate India’s ESDM expertise and capabilities at the premier CeBIT India event leveraging the global and local audience that it will attract during the show.

·         Influence policy making, favourable for the growth of the ESDM sector by leveraging the presence of policy makers at the event

·          Further the goal of innovation and new product development


Commenting on the partnership, Mehul Lanvers-Shah, Managing Director, Hannover Fairs India Pvt Ltd.  said, “We are looking forward to having IESA and MAIT on board to promote the role of India’s ESDM sector. Collaborating with IESA and MAIT to promote India’s ESDM sector will augment a steady manufacturing ecosystem. The Government of India has identified the electronics hardware manufacturing sector as a major thrust area for the country. IESA has done a commendable job of catalysing the growth of the domestic ESDM industry and is relentlessly working towards this objective. Taking cognizance of the demands of the economy and the industry, the Government of India has taken a number of steps to promote the Indian ESDM sector. IESA will utilize its  “ESDM Pavilion” and an exclusive ESDM Session  at CeBIT Global Conferences involving DeitY (Department of Electronics and Information Technology) and industry players, to enhance the ESDM focus at CeBIT India 2014.

“Consumer demands for electronic products have registered remarkable growth over a decade and IESA understands the global potential ESDM sector has to offer. For tapping these global market opportunities, National Policy on Electronics plays a very crucial role.  IESA is focused on the implementation of these policies at ground level and believes that CeBIT’s entry to the Indian market will be a significant  stepping stone for Indian ESDM industry in global markets. Through this participation, our aim is to present India as the most  favorable investment destination and provide an interactive platform for Indian & Foreign companies to seek opportunities for mutual collaboration and joint ventures,  while leveraging the presence of policy makers to put across our recommendations to the government for growth of the sector,” said Mr. M.N. Vidyashankar, President, IESA.   “The MOU will open up vast vistas of opportunities in collaboration between and global and local players in th ESDM space. It is expected  to enhance B2B transactions in a variety of verticals to the best advantage of all stakeholders and strengthen the ESDM ecosystem in the State,” he further added.

MAIT has played an important role in enabling a policy framework for the hardware manufacturing ecosystem and is instrumental in attracting investments in the IT/electronics manufacturing space. MAIT has been instrumental in advocating local manufacturing and has been persuading SMEs to participate in local electronics, design and maufacturing. With this subsidized pavilion exclusively for SME members, MAIT furthers a step towards promoting manufacturing amongst SMEs.

The well recognized international CeBIT show is slated to be a first of its kind Business IT,  ICT and ESDM show in India, dedicated to boost new business in the Indian IT / ITes and ESDM markets and create a platform for generation of new national and international business opportunities, drive new ideas, profitability & growth in India with an exposure to the International markets. The first edition of CeBIT India will take place in 2014 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, (BIEC) on Tumkur Road in Bangalore.


With the aim of showcasing New Perspectives in IT Business, CeBIT India will cover key IT trends in Cloud Computing, Strategic Big Data, Enterprise Mobilily and Social Media.
